Sick Leave Payout. Upon leaving City service, or upon the death of an employee, he or his beneficiary shall be paid for his accumulated sick leave based upon the following schedule: After 5 years of service – 50% sick leave payout no minimum After 10 years of service – 55% sick leave payout no minimum After 15 years of service – 65% sick leave payout or 100% up to 825 hours whichever is greater After 25 years of service – 70% sick leave payout or 100% up to 825 hours whichever is greater Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid for his accumulated sick leave up to a maximum of eight hundred twenty-five (825) hours pay at the regular rate of pay of the employee at the time of his death or fifty percent (50%) of his total balance, whichever is greater.
