Sick Time Usage. A. In the event that tune off exceeds accrued hours, payment wil l be made only for the accrued hours available. B. Sick time cannot be borrowed against future accruals. C. I f an employee's absence continues beyond a time when all sick time is expended, the employee may request a medical leave of absence. D. When an employee records more sick hours on their time card than they have accrued, the balance wil l be deducted and paid from their vacation accrual and the employee and supervisor wil l be notified. E. Employees may be required to supply a Doctor's release before returning to work after three (3) days of sick leave usage or upon abuse of sick leave. F. In accordance with Agency Policy #310, employees may utilize accrued sick time to care for an illness or injury of the employee's family member.

Sick Time Usage a. An employee must notify their supervisor as soon as possible when they are unable to report to work due to illness. b. In addition to illness, injury or exposure to a contagious illness requiring quarantine, sick leave may also be used for medical, dental or vision appointments. c. Sick leave may be used in one half (.5) hour increments. d. Employees who have exhausted their sick leave time, but are still unable to return to work, may use vacation time for their continued absence.

  • Leave Usage Full shift absences on vacation, sick leave, compensating time off, or holiday in lieu taken by employees on a scheduled twelve-hour workshift shall result in the deduction of twelve (12) hours from the employees’ accrued leave balances.

  • Vacation Usage Each department or agency head shall be responsible for scheduling the vacation periods of their employees in such a manner as to achieve the most efficient functioning of the department or agency and the County service. The granting of a vacation period less than the employee's annual entitlement is to be discouraged so that the full benefit of the vacation plan can be realized by each employee. The appointing authority shall determine when vacations will be taken.

  • Minimum Call-Back Time All employees who are called out and required to work in an emergency outside their regular working hours shall be paid for a minimum of two (2) hours at overtime rates and shall be paid from the time they leave home to report for duty until the time they arrive back upon proceeding directly from work.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires.   • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. The Employer will make every effort to allow employees to take their vacation during the period of April 15th to October 15th inclusive, which will be defined as the prime time vacation period.

  • Night Shift Differential Unit 12 employees who regularly work shifts shall receive a night shift differential as set forth below: A.
