Common use of Special Leave Clause in Contracts

Special Leave. ‌ 8.9.1 Special leave of absence with or without pay (of up to two years) may be granted to xxxxxxx at the discretion of the employer. Leave will not be unreasonably withheld in the following circumstances: a) Cultural, community and sporting activities involving national or provincial representation. b) Educational activities pertaining to xxxxxxx work noting that: I. For recognised travelling awards, scholarships and fellowships, leave with pay shall normally be approved. II.
