Special Responsibility Allowance. (a) A lecturer who is required by the employer to undertake special responsibilities, which are over and above that normally expected of a lecturer (as defined by the employer), shall be paid an allowance at a level sufficient to reflect the nature of the responsibilities, being not less than at the rate of $1,000 per annum and not more than 20 per cent of the lecturer's base salary. Those determining the quantum of the allowance and the time allocation for a lecturer’s special responsibilities shall refer to the relevant guidelines.

Special Responsibility Allowance. An allowance of $2.50 per shift worked will be paid to individual employees who have been appointed by the Employer to undertake specialised responsibilities additional to those defined in this Agreement. Those responsibilities will be identified and documented by the Employer prior to the appointment, but many include workplace health and safety, dementia specialist, continence specialist.
