Speedometers. In cases of speeding charges, if requested, the bus speedometer will be checked when the bus is next at a garage with speedometer test equipment. Operators must make their request during the day of the alleged speed charge to the Maintenance Response Desk and in writing to their own supervisor when they return to their home location. In the cases of CADEC violations, operators must make the request for the Speedometer/ECM check on the day they are informed of the violation. Copies of the speedometer/ECM check will be furnished to an operator within 15 days of the operator’s request to the Company or the operator's record will not be charged. For informational purposes, a copy will also be sent to the appropriate Union Vice President/ABA. If the degree of error in the speedometer equals or exceeds the clocked miles per hour in excess of the speed limit, the operator's record will not be charged.

Repair forms shall be supplied to and used by drivers to report to the Company defects in equipment that require repair. A Company representative shall sign the Repair Form they receive from drivers. Copies of these Repair Forms shall be maintained by the Company. Drivers shall be provided a copy of each Repair Form they complete. When a vehicle is unsafe for use, it will be tagged and the keys removed. No driver or Company representative will remove the tag until the required repairs are completed. Copies of the work order confirming the repairs were completed shall be attached to the tag and these documents shall be maintained on file by the Company.

It is agreed that bad order forms shall be supplied for the driver on which to report defects in equipment with sufficient copies so that one can be held available for the driver and so that the office of the Company will have a copy of this report on file. The mechanic will sign this report when repair work is completed. A bad order form when made out by the driver will be signed by a representative of the Company. When a unit is “bad ordered” for reasons that make the vehicle unsafe for use, it will be tagged and the key removed and placed in the maintenance department along with the bad order report. No driver or Company representative will remove the tag until the repair work is completed. A completed copy of the work order shall be attached to the tag left on the vehicle in order to show the work has been completed.
