SYSTEM STARTUP. The goal of this task is to complete training orientation for operations personnel, initiate system feeding and start-up, initiate automatic controls, and attain operational status for the transportation fuel production. This also includes the introduction of “biological seed” in the form of anaerobic sludge and VERDE pre-digestion bacteria to initiate the AD process and steady increase of loading to achieve steady-state conditions at the designed loading rate.

SYSTEM STARTUP. The HVI 900 is a sophisticated instrument that requires specific instruction and training to be used properly. Only operators that have received proper training should use the HVI system. Before beginning to use the instrument, make sure the system has been properly installed (see Chapter 2). Power should be ON for the instrument, monitor, and balance.
