Temporary Downgrading. If it is necessary to assign a status employee on a temporary basis to a temporary or permanent position which is classified at a lower level, the employee's salary, at the time immediately prior to such assignment, will be maintained.

Temporary Downgrading. When an employee is temporarily assigned to a position paying a lower rate of pay, his rate of pay shall not be reduced unless such assignment is due to a lay-off or demotion, in which case, the employee shall receive the rate of the job to which he is assigned.
