Common use of Temporary Filling of Vacancy Clause in Contracts

Temporary Filling of Vacancy. Nothing in this Article shall be construed to limit or prevent the Employer from temporarily filling a vacant or newly created position for up to one hundred – twenty (120) days without following the above procedures. The Sheriff agrees that if a vacant or newly created position needs to be temporarily filled, that a member of the Bargaining Unit shall be used for that purpose. If the Sheriff decides to permanently fill a vacant or newly created position, then the procedures established in Section 23.1 above shall be followed. Once the selection has been made, the Employer will notify all applicants of the selection.
