Temporary Pavement Markings. Review and record the existing pavement markings and markers before obliteration. Re-establish the new pavement markings and markers using the record of existing markings in conjunction with the 2018 Roadway Standard Drawings unless otherwise directed by the Engineer. Submit the record of the existing pavement markings seven calendar days before the obliteration of any pavement markings. Obliterated pavement markings shall be replaced by the end of each workday’s operation. Interim paint may be used to comply with time limitations if final pavement markings cannot be placed except for milled surfaces or diamond ground surfaces. Final markings shall be placed within 30 days in accordance with Section 1205-4 and Section 1205-5. For milled surfaces, temporary pavement markings shall be used in accordance with Section 1205-8(C). There will be no direct payment for interim paint. Temporary paint will be paid for at the contract unit price. For concrete surfaces that have been diamond ground as a surface treatment, 4” temporary paint shall be used in accordance with Section 1205-8(C). Upon completion of all diamond grinding operations, 4” line removal shall be used to remove 100% of the 4” temporary paint on the final concrete surface by grinding method only. Use an acceptable method to grind ridges smooth only where pavement markings will be installed prior to placing final pavement marking material. This method shall also be used in the area of the black contrast for surface preparation. Payment for line removal will be made in accordance with Section 1205-10. For project winterization, install temporary paint markings in accordance with Section 1205-8(C) of the 2018 Standard Specifications. Use 4” lane, edge, and center lines and 8” xxxx lines. Compensation for this work shall be made in accordance with Section 1205-10 except that no payment will be made if paving is completed more than 30 days before the written notification by the Department that winterization is required.

Temporary Pavement Markings. Delete the last sentence and Substitute the following: “No additional payments shall be provided for markings required because the Contractor failed to place the next pavement course or the final pavement markings as specified under Section 619-3.06A.” Delete “portable lighting” in the first sentence and Substitute “nighttime operations”.
Temporary Pavement Markings. The Contractor shall provide and install removable temporary reflectorized tape or reflectorized temporary pavement tab markings. The Contractor shall properly maintain all reflectorized pavement markings for a period of two weeks after placement. The District Engineer or their designee will have the option to decide which type of markings the Contractor is to provide. Pavement markings shall be installed at the end of each day’s operations and shall be immediately tamped after application until it thoroughly adheres to the finished asphalt surface. The Contractor shall remove temporary striping within two (2) weeks of re-establishment of permanent striping or as indicated by the District Engineer or their designee.
Temporary Pavement Markings. The Contractor shall delineate the travel lanes by the following methods: provide and install temporary pavement tabs; install temporary painted markings; or provide and install temporary tape. The Contractor shall properly maintain all reflectorized markings for a period of two (2) weeks after placement. The Engineer of the using agency or his/her designee will have the option to decide which type of markings the Contractor is to provide. Pavement markings shall be installed at the end of each day’s operations and shall be immediately tamped after application until it thoroughly adheres to the finished asphalt surface. Construction staking will be considered incidental to the work and no separate payment will be made.

  • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration.   • Temporary Promotion A. A regular, probationary or limited-term employee who is assigned on a temporary basis to a higher level vacant regular or limited-term position shall be promoted on a temporary basis to that class when such employee has been assigned to the higher class for one hundred twenty (120) consecutive regularly scheduled hours of work and the employee has been performing all of the significant duties and responsibilities of the higher class, unless the employee requests to be reassigned to his or her former class. At any time before the temporary promotion is made, such employee may request to be reassigned to his or her former class. In such a case, the employee shall be reassigned within five (5) working days. B. An agency/department may, at its option, waive the one hundred twenty (120) hour requirement when it is necessary to utilize a regular, probationary or limited-term employee in a higher level vacant regular or limited-term position for a period that is expected to be at least one hundred twenty (120) regularly scheduled hours but not to exceed eighteen (18) months. C. An employee on temporary promotion shall not be placed on promotional probation. Upon return from temporary promotion, an employee shall serve the remainder of any uncompleted probationary period in the employee's former class and shall have the step status and merit increase eligibility date he or she would have achieved if the employee had remained in the lower class throughout the period of his or her service in the higher class. D. At the end of the employee's assignment to the higher class, the employee shall have the right to return to his or her former class and agency/department. A temporary promotion shall not exceed a period of eighteen (18) months.

  • Temporary Promotions In cases of prolonged absence from duty, vacancy of an approved position, or other emergencies, the appointing authority with the consent of the Director of Human Resources or designee may, in writing, temporarily promote a Regular Hire employee when such employee is regularly required to substantially perform the full duties of a budgeted position within a higher classification for a period in excess of ten (10) days. In such cases, the employee shall be paid for all hours in paid status at the rate on the salary range of the higher classification that is closest to, but not less than five percent (5%) above his or her base hourly rate in the classification in which he/she holds regular status at the time he/she is temporarily promoted. All increases shall be rounded to the nearest whole percentage using regular rounding rules. In no event shall an employee in a temporary promotion receive more than the top step of the higher classification into which the employee is temporarily promoted. If the full time status of the classification into which the employee temporarily promotes is different from the classification in which he/she holds regular status (e.g., an employee in a classification that is 37.5 hours full time per week temporarily promotes to a classification that is 40 hours per week full time, or vice versa), the employee will continue to work the scheduled hours of his/her Regular Hire classification. An employee’s eligibility for overtime and leave accrual shall be pursuant to his/her regular classification. An employee must meet the minimum qualifications for the job class to which he/she is being temporarily promoted and must have completed the first six (6) months of his or her initial probationary period with the County.   • Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing. B. A temporary layoff will not affect an employee’s incremental movement, vacation and sick leave accrual rates, or seniority. C. A temporary layoff is leave without pay. An employee may not use any leave for a temporary layoff day(s).

  • Temporary Taking If the whole or any part of the Leased Property (other than the fee) or of Lessee’s interest under this Lease is condemned by any Condemnor for its temporary use or occupancy (which shall mean a period not to exceed two years), this Lease shall not terminate by reason thereof, and Lessee shall continue to pay, in the manner and at the terms herein specified, the full amounts of Base Rent and Additional Charges. In addition, Lessee shall pay Percentage Rent at a rate equal to the average Percentage Rent during the last three (3) preceding Fiscal Years (or if three (3) Fiscal Years shall not have elapsed, the average during the preceding Fiscal Years).
