Traffic Control & Safety. The permittee shall at all times give strict attention to the safety and rights of the traveling public, their employees, and contractors. Any permit may be revoked or suspended when in the opinion of the district administrator’s designee, the safety, use or maintenance of the highway so requires. In accordance with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Road and Bridge Specification, Special Provision 105.14, all activities performed under the auspices of a VDOT Land Use Permit involving the installation, maintenance and removal of work zone traffic control devices must have at least one (1) person on-site who, at a minimum, is accredited by VDOT in Basic Work Zone Traffic Control. The accredited person must have their VDOT Work Zone Traffic Control accreditation card in their possession while on-site. A person accredited by VDOT in Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control must be on-site to provide supervision for adjustment to the approved layout or implementation of any standard Typical Traffic Control (TTC) layouts outlined in the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual. All traffic control plans shall be prepared by a person accredited by VDOT in Advanced Work Zone Traffic Control. All activities that require the disruption (stoppage) of traffic shall utilize VDOT certified flaggers. Flag persons shall be provided in sufficient number and locations as necessary for control and protection of vehicular and pedestrian traffic in accordance with the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual. All flaggers must have their certification card in their possession when performing flagging operations within state maintained right-of-way. Any flag person found not in possession of his/her certification card shall be removed from the flagging site and the district administrator’s designee will suspend all permitted activities. Any VDOT certified flag person found to be performing their duties improperly shall have their certification revoked. The permittee shall be exempt from the requirements of Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Road and Bridge Specification, Special Provision 105.14 if the authorized activity does not involve the installation, maintenance and removal of work zone traffic control devices and is not within the roadway (as defined in 24VAC30-151) of a state maintained highway. Failure to implement proper traffic control techniques as stipulated by the permit shall be cause for VDOT to order the permittee or their agent off of the state maintained right-of-way and suspend the building movement activities. The permittee shall notify the district administrator’s designee and the following appropriate VDOT Transportation Operations Center (TOC) a minimum of two (2) days prior to the scheduled move: Eastern Region (000) 000-0000: All localities within the Hampton Roads construction district excluding Greenville County and Sussex County Northern Virginia (000) 000-0000: All localities within the NOVA construction district including Spotsylvania County and Xxxxxxxx County Central Region (000) 000-0000: All localities within the Richmond construction district including Greenville County and Sussex County. All cost for assistance by law enforcement shall be borne by the permittee.

  • Traffic Control The Surveyor shall control traffic in and near surveying operations adequately to comply with provisions of the latest edition of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices – Part VI which can be found on the State’s internet site. In the event field crew personnel must divert traffic or close traveled lanes, a Traffic Control Plan based upon principles outlined in the latest edition of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices – Part VI shall be prepared by the Surveyor and approved by the State prior to commencement of field work. A copy of the approved plan shall be in the possession of field crew personnel on the job site at all times and shall be made available to the State’s personnel for inspection upon request.

  • Electrical Safety Only UL approved items are permitted in Housing & Residence Life. Extension and multi-use cords must be heavy duty, single plug, and be UL approved. Altering or adapting electrical outlets and equipment and overloading circuits jeopardize safety and thus are not permitted.

  • Child Safety Never leave a child unsupervised near a pool, not even for a second. During social gatherings at or near the pool, appoint a designated adult to protect young children from pool accidents. Children must be watched closely while swimming. Do not use floatation devices as a substitute for supervision. Toys can entice young children into the pool area. When not in use, clear the pool area of all toys.

  • Site Safety Buyer shall comply with all federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards applicable to the Site and to the Equipment and/or Product on which Siemens will perform the Services. Siemens shall not be obligated to commence or perform Services unless Buyer’s Site complies with all applicable safety requirements. In the event Buyer’s Site safety is non-compliant, Siemens may suspend the Services until such time as Buyer corrects the non-compliance. To the extent Siemens incurs additional time and expense as the result of Buyer’s non-compliance, Siemens shall be entitled to an equitable adjustment in the schedule, price and other affected provisions of the Agreement.
