Transporting Children. Teachers will not, except under emergency situations, be expected to transport children with the exception of teachers having the duty of transporting students as part of their normal assignment.

In the rare occasions that transport may be required as part of CC’s children’s work, with regard to transporting children, workers should: • Avoid giving lifts to children unaccompanied by another adult. • Only transport children in their own car if they have a full valid licence and their car is roadworthy and has valid insurance. • Ensure children sit in the rear of the car. • Check before setting off the children are wearing seat belts and appropriate care seats. • Require parents/guardians to sign a consent form in respect of travel arrangements. On every trip each adult should be given a written list of the children for whom they have responsibility – even when the whole group is remaining together and all arrangements for transporting children should be approved by the Safeguarding Co-ordinator. Photography We recognise that sharing photographs and films of our activities can help us celebrate the successes and achievements of our young people, provide a record of our activities and raise awareness of our organisation. However, there are potential risks associated with sharing images of children, including online, such as bullying, grooming, Data Protection breaches, identity theft and the misuse/adaptation of any image by third parties. It is important to remember that parents/guardians have a right to decide whether images or their children are taken, and how these may be used. On our Totz/KidzCentral Consent Form we request consent for photos to be taken and used in CC documentation, videos and presentations, which may be shared within the church. If any photos will be shared outside of CC, e.g. on the website, social media explicit permission will be requested. As workers you need to be aware of whether consent has been given for photos to be taken and used for each young person. This information can be found on iKnow. If consent is not given, and photos are being taken it would be best practice to ensure this is done in a way that does not single out the child or make them feel isolated. It is possible that parents/guardians may have given consent for photos to be taken, however the child themselves may not wish to be included in a photo and it is important to consider this when photos are being taken. Children under 6 years of age are transported free of charge. • Unaccompanied children under 16 years of age pay 50% of the fare (Swiss Pass, Swiss Flexi Pass and Swiss Transfer Pass). • Accompanied children under 16 years of age are transported free of charge on the following conditions: a parent owns one of the Swiss Travel System tickets and also presents a Family Card. • Children may not be accompanied by grandparents in this manner.

One sleeper or couchette berth can be used together by at most two persons, of whom at least one must be under 10 years of age. In inland transport on FS, children 4 years of age or older must have a separate berth. Children under 10 years of age who are travelling independently or who cannot be seated in a compartment with their parents or with the persons who are accompanying them are seated on principle in a compartment for women; children 10 years of age or older are seated as adults.
