Trimming and Edging. A. Hand held mechanical trimming and edging shall be performed around all paved areas, including curbs, sidewalks, parking lots, driveways and streets to include asphalt, concrete, and etc. as well as around planter beds, trees, plants and buildings at the time of mowing. B. Along property lines, easements, and designated wetlands, maintain a six (6) to eight (8) feet swath between buildings, tree lines, wooded areas, vacant lots, and fences lines to maintain accessibility. C. Trimming around plants and trees shall be by appropriate chemical application. No more than three (3) inches from the base of growth. D. All fence lines shall be kept free of plant growth. Herbicides may be used in this instance with a maximum six (6) inch kill radius off posts. The Contractor shall not spray under horizontal split rail fencing, where there are no posts.

Trimming and Edging. 2.7.1. The Contractor shall, during each mowing, edge and trim around all items such as sidewalks, walkways, driveways, HVAC units, antennas, signage, electrical equipment, building, tree rings, fences, etc. 2.7.2. The Contractor shall also edge along all plant beds, parking lots and other edges as necessary to maintain a clean, distinct edge. Use of herbicides in lieu of or in addition to trimming is acceptable, subject to approval by the Facilities Management Manager. 2.7.2.1.
