Tuition Reduction. 31 a. Faculty members shall have access to the tuition reduction (staff fee privileges) available 32 to unclassified employees.
Tuition Reduction. A pre-determined amount of funds is availble for assisting families with tuition costs. Qualifiction is based on need as determined by a third party evaluation through the submission of a confidential assesment form and the most recent IRS 1040. Families seeking tuition reduction must submit the necessary information and forms (confidential assessment application and IRS 1040) online to FACTS by the required date. There is a fee for this process. Families will be notified by email in late spring/early summer regarding the amount of tuition reduction granted. Should families need to discuss their tuition reduction further, they must call the school office and set up an appoint with the School Commission. Late enrolling families seeking reduction assistance may apply but funds may be limited and subject to review and approval by the school commission. Registration payments and technology fees cannot be considered for reduced tuition. Should an issue arise in the area of tuition or any other school-related expense during the school year, please contact the school office immeditely for help in the matter.
Tuition Reduction. You will receive a tuition reduction equal to the full amount of tuition, excluding special course fees, late fees and other charges assessed by Oakland, for the following number of credit hours during the term of your appointment. For full time graduate assistant positions (50% FTE): tuition reduction is a maximum of 8 credits per semester or a maximum of 16 credits per academic year. For part-time graduate assistant positions (25% FTE): tuition reduction is a maximum of 4 credits per semester or a maximum of 8 credits per academic year. The tuition reduction will be applied to graduate credits that satisfy Oakland’s degree requirements; it will not pay assessments for non-program credits, ESL courses, audited courses or courses which a student repeats. Subject to the restrictions set forth above: (i) tuition reductions for 12-month graduate assistantships may be applied to the fall, winter and/or summer semesters; and (ii) tuition reductions for 8-month graduate assistantships may only be applied to fall and/or winter semesters. This tuition reduction is a fringe benefit granted to you, in excess of the reasonable compensation paid to you as a stipend, and it cannot be converted into a cash award. Tuition reduction benefits must be used in the semesters specified in Paragraph 1 of this Agreement, subject to the limits set forth in this Paragraph 4. Tuition reduction benefits that are offered for a particular semester, but are not used in that semester, will be forfeited and will not be paid directly to a student under any circumstances. Tuition reduction benefits may not be used for undergraduate credits; except, tuition reduction benefits may be used, in accordance with Oakland’s graduate studies policies, for undergraduate classes taken to satisfy graduate degree requirements as part of a plan of study that has been approved in writing by the appropriate department and filed with Graduate Study and Lifelong Learning. If your appointment is terminated for any reason on or before the date set by Oakland in the applicable Important Dates Calendar as the last day for “official withdrawalFull Semester Classes” for that semester, including but not limited to your voluntary withdrawal from the graduate assistant program, you will be billed for tuition and costs (a) on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of the semester in which your appointment is terminated based upon your residency status as a graduate assistant; and (b) for any future semesters based upo...

  • PERSONNEL REDUCTION Section 1 In the event of layoffs in connection with decreasing the work force, and the recall to work of people so laid off, the following consideration shall govern. Skill and ability as determined by reference to the employee's work record, and length of service shall be the determining factors; however, employees shall be laid off by category of seniority. There shall be three (3) seniority categories: probationary, 1 year to 5 years seniority, and over 5 years seniority. In case of layoff, all employees in the lowest seniority category shall be laid off before proceeding to layoff of anyone in a more senior category. Where skill and ability within a category are approximately equal, length of service shall govern. Employees having the same seniority within a category shall draw lots to determine the order of layoff. No new employees shall be hired until all laid off employees have been given the opportunity to be re-hired. Employees who have been laid off will be offered re-employment in the inverse order of layoffs when they are needed again, provided they are physically qualified and possess sufficient training and experience to perform the duties of the available work. The City shall give laid off employees ten (10) days notice of its intention to rehire. The employees shall within ten (10) days period notify the City of their intention to, or not to, return to the employ of the City, and shall report to work no later than fifteen (15) days from receipt of said notice to rehire. If an employee fails to notify the City within the ten (10) calendar day period of his/her intentions to return to work, or fails to report to work within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of notice, he/she shall be considered permanently severed from the employ of the City. At the time of a layoff the City shall provide all laid off employees with a complete physical examination. At the time of rehire, the City may require a physical examination prior to the employee's return to duty, and it is expressly understood that any employee found physically unfit to return to duty may be refused re-employment and removed from the employment list. The City shall not be obligated to rehire laid off employees who have been laid off for five (5) or more consecutive calendar years, beginning from the date of layoff.

  • Tuition Reimbursement A. Agencies may approve full or partial tuition reimbursement, consistent with agency policy and within available resources.

  • Tuition Reimbursement Program 21.2.1 The District will fund $28,000 each fiscal year for incentive pay for employees pursuing their National Board Certification, a master’s degree, or an endorsement.

  • Staff Reduction In the event the District adopts a reduced educational program by reason of financial necessity, including but not limited to, levy failure and/or decreased State or Federal support, certificated employees who will be retained to implement the District’s reduced or modified program and those certificated employees who will be non-renewed from employment or adversely affected in contract status shall be identified by the provisions contained in this Article. If the District is only reducing provisional employees, the following procedures do not need to be implemented.

  • Tuition Remission Full-time employees shall be eligible for tuition remission as follows: (For the UMass system, “tuition remission” is defined as the “student tuition credit”).

  • Tuition Refund Employees wishing to enrol in courses of studies which will better qualify themselves to perform their job, and intending to ask the Employer to refund the cost of such course(s), must make application to the Employer prior to taking the course(s). If the Employer agrees that the course(s) would be beneficial both to the Employer and the employee, then the full cost of the course(s) will be borne by the Employer upon successful completion of the course(s). It is understood that there may be occasions when the Employer may pay less than the full cost of course(s) if the course(s) is(are) not taken solely for the purpose of self-improvement on the job. It is further understood that second language courses will also be included.

  • Salary Reduction A reduction in pay from one step to another, which is not below the minimum rate established for the position by the salary plan. A copy of the notice of reduction shall be sent promptly to the City Manager Department for inclusion in the employee's official personnel file.

  • Education Reimbursement The County will provide education reimbursement for education costs incurred by regular employees who apply for such reimbursement in accordance with the policies and procedures governing the education reimbursement program. The maximum reimbursement shall be $1,500 per year.

  • Tuition The Charter School shall not charge tuition or fees to its students except as may be authorized for local boards pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 20-2-133.
