UBEREAVEMENT. U Employees shall be granted a leave with full pay in the event of death of any member of the employee's immediate family. The leave shall be for a maximum of five consecutive working days. This leave shall not be deducted from accumulated sick leave. The immediate family is defined as: spouse, mother, father, step-parent, grandparent, grandchild, son, son-in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, brother, or sister of the employee or his/her spouse; or any relative or individual living in the employee's household.

  • Bereavement A maximum of three (3) days earned sick leave may be used per occurrence for bereavement due to the death of persons in the immediate or extended family, as defined herein, or any relative who resided with the employee.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent).
