Common use of Union Leaves of Absence Clause in Contracts

Union Leaves of Absence. (a) On the request of the Local or the Union one (1) week in advance of the requested leave, Employees designated by the Local or the Union shall be granted leave of absence without pay for Union business. The number of Employees granted such leave shall be determined mutually between the Local and the Employer, and shall be a minimum of, but not limited to, one (1) Employee per Facility/Agency per occasion. The time limits for notice of such leave may be reduced by mutual agreement.
