Shift Differential and Weekend Premium. 21.01 A shift differential shall be paid to an Employee for each hour worked between 1500 and 0700, provided that greater than two (2) hours are worked within that period as per the following: (a) An evening shift differential of two dollars, seventy-five cents ($2.75) per hour shall be paid for each hour worked between 1500 and 2300; and/or (b) A night shift differential of five dollars ($5.00) per hour shall be paid for each hour worked between 2300 and 0700. 21.02 A weekend premium of three dollars, twenty-five cents ($3.25) per hour shall be paid to an Employee for each hour worked within the sixty-four (64) hour period commencing at 1500 hours on Friday and concluding at 0700 hours on Monday, provided that greater than two (2) consecutive hours are worked within that period. 21.03 Where applicable, an Employee shall be eligible to receive both shift differential and weekend premium.

Shift Differential and Weekend Premium. A) Shift Differential i) Effective October 6, 2013 a shift differential in the amount of one dollar and seventy-five cents ($1.75) per hour shall be paid for all hours worked between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a. m. Shift differential shall not be a part of basic wage rates or be used in calculating overtime rates, nor shall it be paid for any hours for which overtime rates are being paid. ii) Effective October 4, 2015 a shift differential in the amount of one dollar and ninety cents ($1.90) per hour shall be paid for all hours worked between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Shift differential shall not be a part of basic wage rates or be used in calculating overtime rates, nor shall it be paid for any hours for which overtime rates are being paid. iii) Shift differential will not be payable in a modified work pattern in a situation where it was not payable under the standard hours of work arrangement. B) Weekend Premium i) Effective October 6, 2013, a weekend premium in the amount of eighty-five cents (85¢) per hour shall be paid for all hours worked between the hours of 6 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m.

(b) A Shift differential of $5.00 per hour shall be paid: (i) to Employees working a Shift where the majority of such Shift falls within the period of 2300 hours to 0700 hours; or (ii) to Employees for each regularly scheduled hour worked between 2300 hours to 0700 hours provided that greater than one hour is worked between 2300 hours and 0700 hours. (iii) to Employees for all overtime hours worked which fall within the period of 2300 hours to 0700 hours. 28.02 Weekend Premium A weekend premium of $3.25 per hour shall be paid: (a) to Employees working a Shift wherein the majority of such Shift falls within a 64 hour period commencing at 1500 hours on a Friday; or (b) to Employees working each regularly scheduled hour worked after 1500 hours on a Friday provided that greater than one hour is worked within a 64 hour period commencing at 1500 hours on a Friday. (c) to Employees working all overtime hours which fall within the 64 hour period commencing at 1500 hours on a Friday. (d) Notwithstanding (b) above, for Employees working a regular Shift that concludes between 1500 hours and 1700 hours on a Friday, no weekend premium will be paid for hours worked on the Friday. 28.03 All premiums payable under this Article shall not be considered as part of the Employee’s basic rate of pay.
Shift Differential and Weekend Premium i) Shift differential shall be paid for all hours worked between 1500 and 0700 for employees working the extended shift, in accordance with the rates set out in Article 15.05. ii) Weekend premium as per Article 15.08 shall be paid for all hours worked between 2300 hours Friday and 2300 hours Sunday.

(c) to Employees for all overtime hours worked which fall within the period of twenty-three hundred (2300) hours to zero seven hundred (0700) hours. 25.02 Weekend Premium (a) to Employees working a shift wherein the majority of such shift falls within a sixty-four (64) hour period commencing at fifteen hundred (1500) hours on a Friday; or (b) to Employees working each regularly scheduled hour worked after fifteen hundred (1500) hours on a Friday provided that greater than one (1) hour is worked within a sixty-four (64) hour period commencing at fifteen hundred (1500) hours on a Friday. (c) to Employees working all overtime hours which fall within the sixty-four (64) hour period commencing at fifteen hundred (1500) hours on a Friday. (d) Notwithstanding (b) above, for Employees working a regular shift that concludes between fifteen hundred (1500) and seventeen hundred (1700) hours on a Friday, no weekend premiums will be paid for hours worked on the Friday. 25.03 All premiums payable under this Article shall not be considered as part of the Employee’s basic rate of pay. 25.04 No Employee shall receive payment under 25.01 (A) and (B) concurrently.

(a) An employee will receive a shift differential for all hours worked outside his regular day shift (8 or 10 hours Monday to Sunday) for his Job Class and work location. (d) Future negotiated wage increases will be applied to the shift differential/weekend premium. 21.03 An employee who works on a Saturday or Sunday will receive the premium from 21.02 (c) for all hours worked.

This differential is applicable to the applicable shifts worked on designated holidays, but will not apply when an employee is eligible for overtime rates. b) A weekend premium of $1.15 per hour, in addition to any other shift differential, shall be paid for each hour worked by an employee between 0001 Saturday to 2400 Sunday. When an employee is receiving overtime pay, weekend premium will not apply.
