Video Remote Interpreting. In the event that the Region makes the initial decision to implement Video Remote Interpreting for spoke language, the parties agree to reopen the MOU Article 19 Assignments and Article 20
Video Remote Interpreting. Nothing in Article 18 (Interpreter Assignments) or Article 19 (Cross Assignment Procedures) shall be interpreted to limit a court’s use of Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) for assignments or cross assignments. In the event that the Region makes the decision to implement VRI for spoken language, it will give one hundred fifty (150) days advance written notice to CFI and provide the opportunity to meet and confer regarding the impact of the decision. The Region shall not implement its decision to utilize VRI prior to January 1, 2015.
Video Remote Interpreting. The BOP shall, within ninety (90) calendar days of the Effective Date, install any additional VRI stations that may be needed in order to meet the interpreting obligations provided for in this Agreement (e.g., in the SHU or the Annex). For all VRI stations, the BOP shall ensure that those stations are equipped with high speed internet connections adequate to support VRI.
Video Remote Interpreting. Definition- For the purposes of this agreement, the definition of Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is when the interpreter is remote from both the proceeding/event and the individual(s) for whom the interpreter is rendering interpreting services by means of an audiovisual delivery system. Except as addressed in the terms of this Agreement, the use of spoken language VRI shall not otherwise modify the contractual or statutory requirements of the Trial Court Interpreter Employment and Labor Relations Act or the terms of this Memorandum of Understanding. Section I
1. Labor Management Committee – The Parties agree to establish a VRI Labor Management Committee that shall meet quarterly (or more often by mutual agreement) during the first 12 months and semiannually thereafter, to review and attempt to resolve operational issues, including but not limited to technology issues that may arise as the result of the implementation of spoken language VRI. The Committee may recommend an evaluation process for evaluating the VRI events and may make nonbinding recommendations to the Court’s CEO regarding ways to make the VRI more effective. The Committee will develop a short survey for the five main languages spoken in the area for LEPs to include overall level of satisfaction from 1-5 and any comments/suggestions. The Committee shall be composed of three management and three union representatives. The Committee shall sunset thirty months after implementation and; thereafter, VRI will be a topic discussed at each local labor management committee meeting as needed; reviewing and attempting to resolve operational issues including but not limited to technology issues. Each side shall submit a written agenda to the other not less than ten working days before the meeting. If neither party submits any agenda items, there shall be no meeting.
2. Reporting of VRI events – Each court will maintain a record of VRI events including the date, case name and number, language, case type, event type, duration, Interpreter assigned, whether the Interpreter assigned is an employee or independent contractor and any difficulties encountered, and whether the interpreter is certified, registered or provisionally qualified. The Region Chair will provide a report to the Union of VRI events upon request at reasonable intervals, not to exceed quarterly reports.
Video Remote Interpreting. Implementation Training and How to Effectively Work with an Interpreter Trainings are included. Resource and training materials shall be customized with telephonic interpreting information included.
Video Remote Interpreting. (VRI).
1. MHS shall ensure that the VRI technology meets the following performance standards:
a. High quality, clear, delay-free, motion-free video and audio over a dedicated high speed internet connection;
b. A clear, sufficiently large and sharply delineated picture of the qualified interpreter’s and the Patient’s and/or Companion’s head, hands, and fingers, regardless of the body position of the Patient and/or Companion;
c. Clear and easily understood transmission of voices; and
d. Efficient set-up and operation by trained and competent MHS staff members and contractors.
2. In its policy regarding effective communication with patients and/or companions who have hearing, vision, or speech disabilities, referenced in Section VI.A of this agreement, MHS shall include detailed information on how it uses VRI for immediate Sign Language interpretation needs when it is unable to obtain an in-person Sign Language interpreter. MHS shall make this revision in accordance with the timeline, approval, and training requirements outlined in Sections VI.A, VI.E, VIII.A and VIII.B of this agreement.
Video Remote Interpreting. 34. If, at any point during the term of this Agreement, DCYF opts to use VRI with Constituents to provide Qualified Interpreters, DCYF agrees to abide by the following terms:
a. The VRI will have real-time, full-motion video and audio over a dedicated high speed, wide-bandwidth video connection or wireless connection that delivers high- quality video images and clear audible transmission of voices that comply with the requirements of 28 X.XX. § 35.160(d).
b. DCYF personnel using VRI must have adequate training in the technology so that DCYF can quickly and efficiently set up and operate the VRI service. 28 C.F.R. § 35.160(d); and
c. DCYF personnel will not rely upon VRI in circumstances where it would be incompatible with effective communication, including but not limited to circumstances where the Constituent has limited ability to see or hear exchanges of information; limited ability to move head, hands, or arms; or cognitive issues that impact ability to communicate using VRI.
Video Remote Interpreting. “VRI”). If and when using VRI services, MinuteClinic shall ensure that it provides: (1) Real-time, full-motion video and audio over a dedicated high-speed, wide- bandwidth video connection or wireless connection that delivers high-quality video images that do not produce lags, choppy, blurry, or grainy images, or irregular pauses in communication; (2) A sharply delineated image that is large enough to display the interpreter’s face, arms, hands, and fingers, and the participating individual’s face, arms, hands, and fingers, regardless of his or her body position; (3) A clear, audible transmission of voices; and
Video Remote Interpreting. If, at any point during the term of this Agreement, HCA decides to provide Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) through HCA’s ISP System, HCA agrees to abide by the following terms: The HCA ISP System’s VRI service shall have real-time, full-motion video and audio over a dedicated high-speed, wide-bandwidth video connection or wireless connection that delivers high-quality video images that comply with the requirements of 28 X.XX. § 35.160(d). HCA shall not be responsible for ensuring that the health care providers who are the end-users of the system comply with the equipment and training requirements of 28 C.F.R. § 35.160(d), however, HCA shall require health care providers using their system to agree as a term of use that they: Will abide by the equipment and training requirements of 28 C.F.R. § 35.160(d); and Will not rely upon VRI in circumstances where it would be incompatible with effective communication, including but not limited to circumstances where the patient or companion has limited range of view or cognitive or other sensory impairments.
