Welder Xxxxxxx. It is recognized that the rigging up of equipment on a double jointing rack that is to be used in the lining up and welding of pipe is the work of the United Association. Note: When pipe is not being double jointed in the reconditioning yard, the Journeymen and Helper need not be employed. Note: It is recognized that the work of handling clamps, lining up of pipe, and the making of joints is the work of the United Association and if additional employees are needed, they shall be employed as Journeymen or Helpers depending on what work is involved.

Re-laying Reconditioned Pipe If certain joints, portions of joints, or infrequent sections are removed to be replaced with new or better pipe then when the pipeline is re-laid, manpower requirements less than those called for in will be considered and may be agreed to by mutual understanding between the Employer and the Union. The shift shall start at the warehouse or the quarter boat and end at the boat dock or quarter boat at shift end. Where testing of Welders is done off-shore, time shall start at the warehouse and end at the boat dock.   • SHOP XXXXXXX The Shop Xxxxxxx shall be a County employee as selected by the Union. A list of shop stewards will be kept current and sent by the Union to each department head and to Human Resources. Duties required by the Union of its stewards, except attendance at meetings with the County, supervisory personnel and aggrieved employees arising out of a grievance already initiated by an employee under Article 14 hereof, shall not interfere with their or other employees, regular work assignments as employees of the County. The shop xxxxxxx, or their designee, involved with a particular grievance must be identified at Step 1 of the grievance procedure and will be designated as the only bargaining unit employee who will be able to gather information pertaining to that particular grievance. The Union will make reasonable efforts to control the amount of investigative time spent between the shop xxxxxxx and the aggrieved employee. Meetings scheduled with management and other proper investigative procedures, and attendance at meetings specified in Steps 1 and 2 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked for compensation purposes to the extent such meetings occur during the normal hours of work, and not otherwise. In order to use union leave for this purpose, Shop Stewards must notify the supervisor/department head of meetings and other commitments at the time these are scheduled. Attendance at meetings specified in Step 3 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked during regularly scheduled business hours of the County for the xxxxxxx involved, witnesses and the grievant. The County shall not be liable for any overtime as a result of the meeting. Witnesses and the shop xxxxxxx involved shall be granted leave with pay to the extent their presence at the proceedings is required. If it is a discharge case the grievant shall not be paid except as provided in a remedy awarded.
