Graduation Leave It is understood that in the case of secondary or post secondary graduation of self or spouse, son or daughter, one day leave with pay shall be granted. Two (2) days leave with pay shall be granted where travel arrangements necessitate such absence from school.
Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.
Xxxx Leave For laid off employees, sick leave accruals shall remain on the books and be reinstated if such employees are reappointed. Whenever a person becomes ineligible for reemployment and such person has not been re-employed, then, if at the point of layoff such person was eligible to receive a sick leave accrual payoff, such person shall be paid for existing sick leave accruals in accordance with Section 1408 of this Agreement.
Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:
Election Leave Employees shall be allowed four (4) consecutive hours off before the closing of polls in any federal, provincial election.
Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.
Parental/Adoption Leave (a) A nurse who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks and who is a parent of a child is entitled to parental leave without pay following the birth of the child or the coming of the child into the custody, care and control of a parent for the first time, shall be entitled to thirty-seven (37) weeks (provided the employee did not take pregnancy leave) of parental/adoption leave of absence without pay in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act of Ontario as may be amended from time to time, except as hereunder set out in this article.
Xxxxx’s leave (1) An employee is entitled to use up to 10 days accrued personal leave each year to care for a member of his or her immediate family or a member of his or her household who is ill and requires his or her care. The employee is not entitled to take xxxxx’s leave for a particular period if another person has taken leave to care for the person for the same period.
Scheduling of Vacation Leave In scheduling vacation leave with pay for an employee the Employer shall, subject to the operational requirements of the service, make every reasonable effort to comply with the employee's wishes.
Annual Leave (a) An employee may elect with the consent of the employer, subject to the Annual Xxxxxxxx Xxx 0000, to take annual leave not exceeding five days in single day periods or part thereof, in any calendar year at a time or times agreed by the parties.
