Federation Leave. A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

Federation Leave. The Federation shall have thirty (30) days during each school year to use for Federation business. These days are to be used at the discretion of the Federation as authorized by the President of the Federation. These days will be without loss of pay and are non-accumulative. The Superintendent may, in any given year, grant additional Federation days. The Federation shall give the Employer reasonable notice and shall not use more than five (5) of these days on any given day without the approval of the Superintendent. The Federation will pay substitute costs for these days.
Federation Leave. The President of the Federation or his/her designee may be granted leave for Federation business of up to eight (8) days per year upon approval of the Superintendent. The first four days of substitute costs shall be paid by the District, and the remaining substitute costs will be paid by the Federation.
Federation Leave. (a) A teacher in the System who is an officer of the Federation or who is appointed to the Federation staff shall upon written application filed with the Superintendent prior to July 1 of any year be granted a leave of absence to commence the following September and to terminate on September 1 of the succeeding year. Such leave shall be without pay and may be renewed for one additional year, upon notice to the Superintendent by March 31 of the year of the leave. (b) Failure of such person to notify the Board in writing of her/his intention to return to work by March 31 of the year in which s/he is on leave, shall result in determination that such teacher has resigned from the system. Any teacher on such leave of absence shall receive credit toward annual salary increments on schedules appropriate to her/his rank. (c) No more than two (2) teachers in the system shall be on such leave at any one time.
Federation Leave. 15.01 (a) Local District 25 i) The Employer agrees that the President and/or Bargaining Unit Officer shall be released from his/her duties in order to undertake his/her responsibilities. Appropriate arrangements will be made to accommodate part-time leave requests subject to the agreement of the Parties regarding staffing requirements. It is understood that two (2) employees may be released in any one school year, notwithstanding the duration of the leaves. ii) District 25 Educational Support Professionals Unit agrees to reimburse the Employer for the full cost of salaries and benefits for each of the President and Bargaining Unit Officer, respectively. Where applicable, benefits shall be deemed to equal seventeen percent (17%) of the employee's salary. iii) The status of the above-noted officers shall continue to be that of employees of the Employer, retaining all applicable rights and privileges thereto. Vacation credits accumulated while on leave shall be used while in the service of the Bargaining Unit and prior to the employee's return from leave. iv) The Bargaining Unit shall notify the Employer prior to 30 June, or at such other time as mutually agreed to by the Parties, as to its intent respecting the above leave(s) and the names of the Bargaining Unit representatives.
Federation Leave. 35.1 At the request of the Federation, the Board shall permit up to three members (or equivalent), not more than one of which would be split into not more than two half-time leaves, designated by the Federation, to act as members on Federation Leave. The members shall be released from teaching duties on a full-time or part-time basis, without loss of salary, employee benefits (including Teachers’ Pension Plan), and seniority with respect to recognized teaching experience. In all respects, the Teachers will remain full-time Teachers with the Board. 35.2 The Federation will give at least two weeks' notice to the Board of its intention to designate a Teacher or Teachers in the positions of District Officer and/or members on Federation Leave for a given school year. Normally notice will be given prior to the third Friday of May of the previous year. Such notice shall be given unless there are reasons which are unavoidable or extraordinary. Sufficient time will be allowed following this designation for staffing adjustments to be made in the school(s) involved, such adjustments being acceptable to the Board. The District Officer or Federation Leave position(s) shall commence only upon the completion of the required staffing arrangements. 35.3 Release time as necessary, will be provided for each bargaining unit representative for the performance of Federation duties involved with the interpretation or application of this Collective Agreement. 35.4 The Federation shall notify the Board of the names of bargaining unit representatives to receive such Federation leave. Reasonable notice of such leave will be requested from the Principal and the time period will be mutually agreed upon. 35.5 The costs associated with the District Officer position or members on Federation Leave shall be the total costs associated with a Teacher in Category 3 with 0 years of experience. 35.6 In the event that the District Officer is not a Teacher (TBU), the District Officer’s salary is to be paid directly by the District Executive and will not be covered by this Collective Agreement. 35.7 Each member on Federation Leave shall receive the salary and benefits he/she would normally receive if he/she had not gone on leave. 35.8 The District Officer or member on Federation Leave costs as defined in 35.5 and 35.6 shall be covered as follows: a) The Board's Accumulated Sick Leave plan shall be registered with The Employment Insurance Commission as a Wage Loss Replacement Plan with 5/12ths of t...
Federation Leave. 1. Upon written request of the Unit Executive, the Board shall grant a leave of absence from educational duties for the following school year for the President of the local OECTA Unit. 2. a) The President of the OECTA Unit shall select either a full-time or part-time leave and shall notify the Board of said request prior to April 30, 1999, and April 15 of each year thereafter.
