Xxxxxxx Work Trains. (a) Work trains going on for seven days or more will be bulletined over the entire system. All engineers, including engineers not working as such, are eligible to apply. Senior man may have preference to spotting engine or engines, handling pile drivers or ditchers when used in work train service. (b) Senior engineers will have choice of assignment when two or more work trains are working at the same time. Engineers when going on work or construction trains will be notified 24 hours previously so they can make necessary preparations, except in case of emergency. (c) Unassigned work trains will be crewed from the originating home terminal where a spareboard is maintained, unless the movement is through to another home terminal with a spareboard. In terminal to terminal through movement the assignment will be protected by the spareboard responsible for work on that subdivision.

Xxxxxxxx: This refers to my letter of December 27, 1974 in which we agreed that, effective May 1, 1975, two locomotive engineers would be called for road auxiliary service under certain conditions. In order that there will be no misunderstanding of the intent of this arrangement, the following will apply: (a) The auxiliary is called to operate in the vicinity of the terminal or to proceed to a location where relief can practicably be supplied if required. (b) An auxiliary is called for movement to a terminal where another engineer (or engineers) on another subdivision will take over. (c) It is known that the work is for a short duration and relief will not be required for the engineer. the auxiliary equipment is required for a long duration to clear the main track or clean up at a wreck. When two engineers are called, as provided above, a fireman/helper will not be called. made in the pool when any crew falls below 3,300 miles.

Engineers when going on work or construction trains will be notified 24 hours previously so they can make necessary preparations, except in case of emergency.

  • Construction Phase Services 3.1.1 – Basic Construction Services

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off.   • Basic Work Week ‌ a) The basic work week of an employee working full- time shall be forty (40) hours consisting of five eight hour days; b) Daily hours of work shall be consecutive with the exception of rest and meal periods. No split shifts shall be worked; c) Employees shall not work longer than their regular, scheduled work day, unless requested to do so by Management; in which event, additional time will be paid at applicable regular or overtime rates.   • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • SHOP XXXXXXX The Shop Xxxxxxx shall be a County employee as selected by the Union. A list of shop stewards will be kept current and sent by the Union to each department head and to Human Resources. Duties required by the Union of its stewards, except attendance at meetings with the County, supervisory personnel and aggrieved employees arising out of a grievance already initiated by an employee under Article 14 hereof, shall not interfere with their or other employees, regular work assignments as employees of the County. The shop xxxxxxx, or their designee, involved with a particular grievance must be identified at Step 1 of the grievance procedure and will be designated as the only bargaining unit employee who will be able to gather information pertaining to that particular grievance. The Union will make reasonable efforts to control the amount of investigative time spent between the shop xxxxxxx and the aggrieved employee. Meetings scheduled with management and other proper investigative procedures, and attendance at meetings specified in Steps 1 and 2 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked for compensation purposes to the extent such meetings occur during the normal hours of work, and not otherwise. In order to use union leave for this purpose, Shop Stewards must notify the supervisor/department head of meetings and other commitments at the time these are scheduled. Attendance at meetings specified in Step 3 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked during regularly scheduled business hours of the County for the xxxxxxx involved, witnesses and the grievant. The County shall not be liable for any overtime as a result of the meeting. Witnesses and the shop xxxxxxx involved shall be granted leave with pay to the extent their presence at the proceedings is required. If it is a discharge case the grievant shall not be paid except as provided in a remedy awarded.

  • Compressed Work Week The Company and Union recognize the concept of the compressed work week. It is further understood that the compressed work week conditions will apply only to those departments that are on the compressed work week.

  • WORK CLOTHING Two sets of cotton drill protective clothing will be issued to all employees, upon request, within two weeks of commencing work with the Company. Employees will be made aware of these entitlements at the time of employment. A set of clothing will consist of either: • Two pairs of overalls; or • Two combination bib and brace; or • Two pairs of long trousers and two long sleeved shirt; or • Work denims at cost no greater than the above three choices • Clothing and footwear will be replaced on a fair wear and tear basis.
