Work Train Service. Note: Formerly Article 9 LE West and LE East and Article 21 CTY West and CTY East.
12.01 The provisions of this clause shall apply to assigned and unassigned work train service and to other classes of Road Service when performing defined work.
12.02 Work train service under the meaning of this Article is service performed in connection with Maintenance, Construction, Betterment, Wrecking train service, Snow Plow, Flanger and Spreader Service.
Work Train Service. 14.1 Employees assigned to work train service will not be considered absent from time work is through Saturday night until starting hour Monday, unless notified before being laid up on Saturday that they will be required, and if so notified and not used they will be paid a minimum day unless cancelled prior to the starting time of their regular assignment if it were being worked on that day, in which event they will be allowed 50 miles. Such employees should not be used in other class of service on Sundays, unless the requirements of the service make it unavoidable.
14.2 Employees employed in work train service will be allowed to go home Sundays, provided regular train service permits, and the work will not be interfered with.
14.3 Paragraphs 6.5 and 6.6 of Article 6 do not apply to work service (including Sperry cars, inspection cars, weeding machines and similar equipment when used in service during trip or day's work) wreck or construction service.

Work Train Service. When deadheading for work train service:
Work Train Service. A. Train Crews on wreck, snow plow and flanger trains, after being on duty twelve (12) hours, may be tied up for not more than eight (8) hours at any point between the initial terminal and the point for which called (the tie-up point to be recognized as the final terminal). Crews so tied up shall be paid actual miles or hours to the tie-up point. When resuming duty a new day will commence. In the application of this
B. Train Crews in work or construction service may be tied up away from recognized terminal points and the point where the crew ties up at the completion of day's work will be considered as the terminal point.
Work Train Service. NOTE: The following Article 31 is applicable in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 only.
Work Train Service. SECTION 1. Engineers in work train service shall be paid through freight rates as specified in Sections 2 and 3, Article 3. One hundred miles or less, or eight hours or less, will constitute a day; over 100 miles pro rata. On runs of 100 miles or less overtime will begin at the expiration of eight hours; on runs of over 100 miles, overtime will begin when the time on duty exceeds the miles run divided by 12 1/2. Overtime shall be paid for on the minute basis, at an hourly rate of three-sixteenths of the daily rate, according to weight of engine or other power used. Time to begin when required to report for duty and to end when released at terminal or tie-up point.
SECTION 2. Engineers performing service enumerated will be paid miles or hours, whichever is the greater, in addition to work train day:
(a) Handles light engine or engine and caboose from district terminal to outside point and goes into work train service, or handles light engine or engine and caboose from Outside point to district terminal on discontinuance of work train;
(b) Handles light engine or engine and caboose on completion of work train day from outside point to district terminal or other point for fuel, water, repairs, or other necessary attention to engine
(c) Handles light engine or engine and caboose from district terminal or other point after engine has been fueled, watered, repaired, or given other necessary attention, or handles engine to take the place of work train engine to point where work train service begins.
(a) Should work train engineer perform any service out of terminal after being released as specified in Section 1, this Article, he shall begin a new day; time and mileage for subsequent service to be computed independently in accordance with the rules for class of service performed.
(b) When engineer is deadheaded to tie-up point of work train to fill vacancy on same and, or, on completion of day's work deadheads from tie-up point of work train to district terminal, he will be allowed deadhead mileage in accordance with Article 28, in addition to time allowed in work train service. Engineers deadheaded to an outside point to inaugurate service on an extra or unassigned work train, will be paid deadhead mileage under the provisions of Article 28, and will commence work train day at the time of arrival at such Outside point in deadhead service.
