An Auxiliary employee who is the successful applicant for a posted regular vacancy or converted to regular status shall have their previous time worked in the same position credited for the purposes of increments.
An Auxiliary. Employee in a Temporary Appointment shall accumulate seniority equal to the number of hours worked on the basis of:
(1) all hours worked at the straight time rate; (2) designated paid holidays or days off in lieu.
An Auxiliary employee who has been selected for appointment per Article 6 shall have the right of first refusal for additional work assignments provided s/he is qualified to fulfill the responsibilities of the additional work assignment(s), and the additional work assignment(s) are available at the same location where the Auxiliary employee is fulfilling his/her current work commitment(s). The temporary workload increase shall not exceed one hundred percent (100%) of equivalent full-time duty as per Article 5.
An Auxiliary. Employee who has been employed full‐time for more than six (6) continuous weeks shall commence on the first day of the seventh (7th) week, for the duration of full‐time employment, to be designated as Temporary Full‐Time. Upon being converted to Temporary Full‐Time the employee shall cease to qualify for a percentage in lieu of benefits and commence serving the eligibility period for provisions applicable to Temporary Full‐Time Employees. The eligibility time periods shall include the six (6) week period worked as an Auxiliary Employee.
An Auxiliary employee may not accept work in a different department, program area and position that conflicts with the current work assignment that they have accepted.
An Auxiliary employee cannot shorten a current work commitment to accept a work assignment in another department.
An Auxiliary employee cannot carry their hours of work for the purpose of call-in from one department to another.
An Auxiliary agrees to comply with the Governing Documents and all other policies and guidelines as directed by the NEB (ie., Financial Policy).
An Auxiliary. Salary employee will forfeit their service when they:
(a) voluntarily resigns, including position abandonment;
(b) retires;
(c) is dismissed for just cause;
(d) has a break in employment of more than four months; or
(e) is terminated on probation.
An Auxiliary employee, who is the successful applicant for a posted regular vacancy, shall be returned to their former auxiliary status should the employee prove unsatisfactory in or be unable to perform the duties of the position. Hours worked in the position shall be added to their auxiliary hours upon return to their auxiliary status.
