Advanced Practice Professional definition

Advanced Practice Professional means an individual, other than a Practitioner, who is licensed and/or certified to render health care services independently or under the supervision of a Medical Staff Member, and who is authorized by the Medical Center to provide direct health care services at the Medical Center. Clinical Assistants are not Advanced Practice Professionals and do not qualify for Clinical Privileges or Staff Membership.
Advanced Practice Professional. (“APP”) means individuals other than Medical Staff members who provide a medical level of care or perform surgical tasks consistent with granted clinical privileges, but who may be required by law and/or the Hospital to exercise some or all of those clinical privileges under the direction of, or in collaboration with, a Supervising/Collaborating Physician pursuant to a Supervision/Collaborative agreement. See Appendix B of this Policy.
Advanced Practice Professional means members of allied health fields affiliated with the Medical Staff as determined by the Medical Staff, and including nurse anesthetists, physician assistants, and other advanced practice fields. Members of the allied health fields shall be affiliated with and subject to monitoring by the Medical Staff, but such Advanced Practice Professional shall not be considered members of the Medical Staff.

  • The Advanced Practice Professional will be invited to present information to refute the reasons for the recommendation.

  • To exercise such right, the Advanced Practice Professional must file a written request for review with the Medical Executive Committee within fifteen (15) days of the Adverse Action.

Advanced Practice Professional or “APP” means an individual, not including a Physician, Dentist, Oral Surgeon or Podiatrist, who is licensed and/or certified to render health care services independently or under the supervision of a Medical Staff Member, and is credentialed and privileged in accordance with these Medical Staff Bylaws.

Advanced Practice Professional or “APP” means those individuals eligible for Privileges but not Medical Staff Membership who provide a level of service including evaluation and treatment of patients, documentation in the medical record and prescribing of medications, as applicable in accordance with their scope of practice. APP categories are listed in the Organization and Functions Manual which is part of the Rules and Regulations.
