Access to Xxxxxxxx. Xxxxxx School’s electronic communications system(s) is a privilege, not a right. All users shall be required to acknowledge receipt and understanding of all administrative regulations governing use of the system(s) and shall agree in writing to comply with such regulations and guidelines. Noncompliance with applicable regulations will result in disciplinary action consistent with Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxx School’s policies and regulations. Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxx School is pleased to offer Middle and Upper School students and all faculty and staff access to Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxx School’s network for productivity applications, electronic mail, and Internet access for school work and enrichment activities. To gain access to Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxx School’s network and facilities, each student must obtain parental consent and must return a signed consent form. Access to e-mail and the Internet will enable students to explore thousands of libraries, databases, and other web-facilitated educational opportunities. Along with the unparalleled storehouse of valuable information and resources the Internet places on a person’s desktop comes also the availability of a relatively small amount of material that may not be considered to be of educational value or appropriate in the context of the School setting. The faculty and administration of Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxx School are convinced that the valuable information and interaction available on this worldwide network far outweighs the possibility that users may find material that is not consistent with the educational goals of the School. As with any medium of communication or expression, we believe the School, working with our students’ families and supporting and reinforcing their values, best serves students by helping them grow in discernment, personal responsibility, and ethical conduct.
