Additional Teaching Experience a) Teachers who provide proof of secondary school experience outside of Ontario and who held Ontario qualifications as defined by the Ontario College of Teachers, or equivalent, while the experience was acquired either in Canada or out-of-country, shall receive recognition on the grid for this experience. Membership in the Ontario College of Teachers is not a requirement for such recognition. Recognition for such experience must be applied for to the HR Specialist responsible for secondary teachers within three (3) months from the first day worked after being hired, and supported by appropriate documentation from the former employer(s) received no later than June 30 of the school year in which the teacher was hired. b) Notwithstanding the above timelines, later application for additional teaching experience recognition shall be effective the first day worked in the year of application provided that the appropriate documentation is received by the employer no later than June 30 of that school year. c) Teachers entering the secondary schools from the elementary schools, will have their elementary experience treated as secondary school experience for salary purposes only. d) Long Term occasional teaching experience, as defined in the Occasional Teacher Collective Agreement of this Employer, served with this Employer or other Boards of Education in Ontario, shall be accumulated and added to other partial years of experience for credit on the grid. e) For new hires to regular teaching positions only, Summer School and Night School teaching experience acquired with this Employer after September 1, 2000, shall accumulate for the purposes of grid placement at the rate of one (1) month (equals 20 days) for each full Summer or Night School credit course taught. Such experience shall be accumulated and added to other (partial) years of experience for credit on the grid, provided it is supported by appropriate documentation within two (2) months of the first day of work after being hired.

Additional Teaching Experience a) LTO experience acquired prior to 01 September 2006 will be recognized for grid purposes. b) Effective 01 September 2006 experience credit for LTO and daily teaching experience with the Employer (acquired after 01 September 2006), shall be recognized such that twenty (20) full time equivalent days of accumulated experience shall equate one-tenth of a year of credit. c) Teachers who provide proof of permanent teaching experience with a Board of Education in Ontario or experience outside of Ontario, and who hold Ontario qualifications as defined by the Ontario College of Teachers shall receive recognition for the purpose of related experience.

  • Previous Experience 31.01 New employees will be classified according to previous comparable experience for the purpose of establishing wage rates. The Co-operative shall not be required to recognize previous experience of new employees who have not worked in the same or similar business in the past two (2) years. Recognized credit for previous experience shall be applicable to qualifying employees commencing with the first working day following completion of said employee's probationary period. 31.02 It shall be the responsibility of the employee to supply proof of their previous experience prior to the completion of their probationary period. Otherwise, all claim for credit for previous experience shall be forfeited by the employee. 31.03 In the event of any disagreement as to credit granted for previous experience, such disagreement shall be considered a grievance, and the Grievance Procedure provided in the Agreement shall apply.

  • NON-TEACHING DUTIES The Board and the Association acknowledge that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach, and that his/her energies should be utilized to this end. It is agreed that teachers will be relieved of non-teaching duties to the extent possible and practical through the use of non-teaching personnel to perform clerical-type tasks and supervise playgrounds and lunchrooms.

  • Academic Year Academic Year is defined as beginning with the start of fall semester and ending with the completion of spring semester.

  • Work Experience Formula hour equivalents will be given on the basis of the following number of students enrolled at fourth week census: 5-14 students enrolled = 1 (one) formula hour 15-24 students enrolled = 2 (two) formula hours 25-34 students enrolled = 3 (three) formula hours

  • CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE All employees shall be classified according to previous comparable supermarket experience. Previous comparable experience shall be granted on the following basis: A. Out of the industry for less than one (1) year will receive credit for fifty percent (50%) of their previous experience to a maximum credit of twelve (12) months' credit for previous experience. B. Out of the industry for more than one (1) year, will receive credit for fifty percent (50%) of their previous experience up to a maximum of six (6) months' credit for previous experience. No previous experience will be considered unless it has been stated by the employee on his or her Application for Employment form. (This provision shall not apply where employees fail to indicate their previous comparable experience by agreement with Management.) New employees having previous comparable experience may be paid at a lower scale of wage than their claimed experience calls for but not less than the minimum rate established by this Agreement for an evaluation period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from the date of employment, providing that if the employee's services are retained, then after the forty-five (45) day period they shall receive any difference between the evaluation rate paid and the rate for which their experience qualifies them retroactive to the date their employment started, and shall receive written notification showing the credit granted for previous experience. In the event of any disagreement as to the credit granted for previous experience, such disagreement shall be considered a Grievance and the Grievance Procedure provided in this Agreement shall apply. Providing that the Employer has: i) Provided the employee with the "New Employee" letter provided for in Section 3.02 of this Agreement not later than two (2) weeks from the date of employment, and ii) Provided the employee with the written notification showing credit granted for previous experience within the forty-five (45) day period required by this Section, and iii) Provided the Union with a copy of the letter showing credit granted for previous experience within the same period then no consideration will be given to any disagreement pertaining to credit for previous experience if presented later than sixty (60) days from the date of employment.

  • TEACHING CONDITIONS The parties recognize that optimum school facilities for both student and teacher are desirable to insure the high quality of education that is the goal of both the Association and the Board. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and school day should be directed toward ensuring that the energy of the teacher is primarily utilized to this end.

  • Investment Experience Holder understands that the purchase of this Warrant and its underlying securities involves substantial risk. Holder has experience as an investor in securities of companies in the development stage and acknowledges that Holder can bear the economic risk of such Holder’s investment in this Warrant and its underlying securities and has such knowledge and experience in financial or business matters that Holder is capable of evaluating the merits and risks of its investment in this Warrant and its underlying securities and/or has a preexisting personal or business relationship with the Company and certain of its officers, directors or controlling persons of a nature and duration that enables Holder to be aware of the character, business acumen and financial circumstances of such persons.

  • Teaching Load 11-1 The parties recognize that the number of students, the number of preparations, and the amount of planning time are related to student performance. 11-2 CLASS SIZE 11-2-1 The parties recognize that class size is related to economics and that reduction of class size is faced with fiscal constraints. The parties further recognize that it is not feasible at this time to set general numerical limitations upon class size because of physical space available, special programs, special student needs, attendance area variances, differences in scheduling systems, busing, and because of other variable causes affecting class size. Nevertheless, the parties shall make reasonable effort to maintain class size at reasonable, workable, and educationally effective levels in all situations. 11-3 TEACHER LOAD 11-3-1 Teaching load shall be defined as the number of separate class preparations that a teacher has per school day as delineated in the course description guide.
