Grid Placement. Other Articles specifically relevant to Casual appointments include, but are not limited to Articles 9.0.2, 14.0.5, 17.0.3, 20.1.2, 20.1.3, 21.0.6, 22.0.3, 23.0.8(b), 34.0.5, 35.0.3, 35.2.2, 38.4.1, 48.0.13(a), 48.0.36(f) and XXX III.
Grid Placement. Each Teacher shall be paid at the rate appropriate to the Teacher’s teaching experience per articles 10.06 and the Teacher’s category classification per article 10.07, as set forth on the grid in 10.11.
Grid Placement. Each teacher shall be paid according to the Salary Grid and at the appropriate rate according to the provisions of Article 5.
Grid Placement. Teacher Category
a. For teachers already classified by the Ministry of Education according to the classification so established which shall relate to the Teacher Qualification Service categories as follows: The Equivalent Teacher Qualification Service categories shall be Category 4(SC/PC); Category 5 (SB/PB); Category 5+; Category 6 (SA/PA).
b. For all other teachers according to their category by the Teacher Qualification Service Board.
Grid Placement. 21.1.1 Upon hire, employees will normally be placed at step one (1) of the appropriate salary band for the position, or up to step five (5) for directly related experience in the past five (5) years, as determined by the OOS hiring Manager in consultation with Human Resources. Prior to approval of requests to hire above step five (5), an evaluation of market comparators of equivalent roles in the same job with similar‐ sized public‐sector organizations shall be conducted in collaboration with the Joint Consultation Committee to determine whether the assigned pay band for the position is appropriate. Placement above the range specified will be determined through Joint Consultation and formalized in writing.
21.1.2 Upon promotion through a posted competition or through position reclassification, a current employee shall be placed on the band appropriate to their new position. Placement in the new pay band shall be the greater of either:
a) step one (1) to step five (5) as determined by the OOS hiring manager in consultation with Human Resources for directly related experience in the past five (5) years; or
b) the lowest step that provides at least a six percent (6%) increase.
21.1.3 The employee’s anniversary date will be adjusted to the effective date of the change.
21.1.4 Upon promotion through a posted competition or through position reclassification to a higher salary band, any increment due in the current position within the next six (6) months shall be applied prior to placement on the new band as per Article
Grid Placement. 14.04.01 The Employer recognizes the current Rating Statement of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation Certification Rating Board, or the appropriate previous Certificate Rating Statement as the document for Group Placement.
14.04.02 It shall be incumbent upon the Bargaining Unit Member to provide documented proof in the form of a Certificate Rating Statement from the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation as to the Member’s appropriate group certification.
14.04.03 No Bargaining Unit Member shall be newly employed at a salary other than being paid to another Member having the same or equal qualifications, experience, and responsibility.
14.04.04 Upon receipt of the Bargaining Unit Member’s certification as per 14.04.01, retroactive salary adjustments shall be made using one of the following two methods:
a) If the date of qualification is prior to the commencement of teaching duties for the school year, the adjustment date shall be the first pay in that school year.
b) If the qualification date is subsequent to the commencement of teaching duties for the school year, the adjustment date shall be the date on the certificate from the university.
14.04.05 Bargaining Unit Members must provide proof of the change of Group Placement as in 14.04.01 within a year to be eligible to receive retroactive salary identified in 14.04.04. 14.04.06 Full retroactive pay under 14.04.04 shall be made within forty-five (45) days following receipt of the certificate from the university or a revised Certificate Rating Statement reflecting additional qualifications

Grid Placement. (a) All staff will be placed only on the Salary Schedule identified in Article 7.07 and shall proceed through their appropriate level on the basis of approved annual increments, calculated from the date of appointment to permanent staff. The Employer shall not vary the salary schedule of an individual without prior agreement of the Bargaining Unit.
(b) Recognition for experience may be granted at the time of employment. Such recognition shall be at the discretion of the Superintendent of Human Resources or designate.
(c) (i) Progression from one level to a higher level is not automatic. Changes will occur only through promotion or increased responsibility given to a position. Such change must be dealt with as described in the Administrative Procedures. An Employee and/or the Employee's supervisor may approach the Position Evaluation Committee directly, to determine whether the increased responsibility given to a position changes the level of the position. In the event an Employee's request for level change is not supported by the Employee's supervisor, such Employee may approach the Position Evaluation Committee directly.
Grid Placement. Approved teaching experience shall be determined September 1st of the school year and shall include teaching experience as a certified probationary or permanent teacher, a long term occasional teacher with another Board, a long term occasional teacher with The Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxxxxx District School Board and its predecessor Board, which has been performed in an Ontario elementary or secondary school day program plus other teaching experience if deemed equivalent by the Director of Education or designate.

11.01 (a) For the purpose of grid placement, only full years of teaching experience shall be used. In calculating a full years’ teaching experience:
(i) five (5) months up to and including less than one (1) year five (5) months shall be considered one (1) year;
(ii) one (1) year five (5) months up to and including less than two (2) years five (5) months shall be considered two (2) years and so on until maximum has been reached.
(iii) the total number of months shall be determined by the total number of days' teaching experience divided by the number of teaching days in that school year as defined by the Act and its Regulation(s). Where the calculation results in a fraction greater than or equal to 0.5, that number shall be rounded up to the next whole number.
