Addressing New Employees. During orientation sessions held by the Employer to orient new employees, the Employer will introduce a Union representative designated by the Union and will provide the Union’s representative an opportunity, usually not lasting more than thirty (30) minutes, to address the employees.

Addressing New Employees. A. The Employer will give the Union representative of the local bargaining unit as much advance notice as possible of a new employee’s first day of duty, name, position, and work location. The Union also will be notified of any employee employment orientation session and be allowed to participate. The Union representative will be provided a mutually agreed reasonable amount of time, to address the new employees at their permanent duty stations as part of this employee employment orientation session. If a new employee will not be included in a group orientation, a Union representative will be afforded a mutually agreed reasonable period of time, within the new employee’s first month of employment, to discuss representational matters with that new employee.

  • Acquainting New Employees 26.01(a) New employees shall be advised of the name of the employee's xxxxxxx and/or Union representative and where practicable provided with an introduction within the first thirty (30) days of employment.

  • New Employee Orientation The Union will provide each agency personnel director with the names and addresses of up to two (2) authorized Union representatives per agency to receive notice of each formal orientation meeting held by the Department. The notice will be sent as soon as such meetings are scheduled (but not less than ten (10) days in advance) and will include date, time and location. Due to operational exigencies, agencies may schedule an orientation which will provide the Union with less than the requisite ten (10) days' notice; however the Union shall be notified as soon as possible after the scheduling of the orientation and the Union representative shall be released from duty. Agencies shall routinely schedule orientations in a manner that will allow for the ten (10) day advance notice to the Union. During the formal orientation, the Union will be permitted to give a twenty (20) minute presentation which may include an enrollment in supplemental Union benefits. The parties shall encourage employee attendance, although attendance shall not be mandatory if an employee objects to attending the presentation. In the event a formal orientation meeting is not held, or the Union is unable to attend the formal orientation because the designated Union representatives cannot be released under Article 4, the Employer shall allow the Union representative and the employee(s) to meet during duty hours at a mutually agreed upon time and location for twenty (20) minutes Employee participation in these meetings shall be encouraged although an employee shall not be required to attend such a meeting.

  • Opening Negotiations 4.2.1 Between April 1 and April 30 of each ensuing year, either the Association or the Board shall submit a written request for negotiations to commence to the other party, if it desires there to be negotiations for that year. If no such request is made during the time period above, negotiations will not take place for the ensuing year.

  • Employee Who Acts as Representative Where an employee wishes to represent at a meeting with the Employer, an employee who has presented a grievance, the Employer will, where operational requirements permit, grant leave with pay to the representative when the meeting is held in the headquarters area of such employee and leave without pay when the meeting is held outside the headquarters area of such employee.
