Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.
Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:
Annual Paid Sick Leave Twenty (20) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of one and two-thirds for each month of employment in which the employee receives at least ten (10) days pay.

Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.
Personal Sick Leave (1) An employee is entitled to use any accrued personal leave for absence due to personal illness or injury. Sick Leave Abuse When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.
