Advance Vacation. Advance vacation shall be granted only where an Employee has exhausted all earned vacation allowance and is detained out of the State of Hawai`i for a cause which the Employee establishes to the satisfaction of the department head to be out of the Employee's control. An Employee so detained shall immediately communicate with the department head and request such advance vacation and, if the same is granted, it shall be considered as taken with the express understanding that if such leave is not later earned during the term of employment the unearned portion of the vacation pay so advanced will be repaid, and on demand of the department head to the Employer by the Employee or the Employee's executors and administrators out of the Employee's estate, if the Employee is deceased, or deductions may be made for such unearned portion from any salary due the Employee, or from any monies in the annuity savings fund of the Employee's retirement system of the Employer to the credit of the Employee.
Advance Vacation. (a) Subject to subsection (b) hereof, at the request of an Employee and upon approval of the supervisor or department head, an Employee with two (2) years or more of continuous completed service may be granted a maximum of five (5) days from the vacation to be earned for the following vacation year.
(b) If an Employee has taken advance vacation and terminates employment without having earned such advance vacation, the equivalent pay for the number of days taken shall be deducted from monies owing at the time of termination.
Advance Vacation. Employees with one year or more of service may request vacation time in advance for no more than the number of days to be earned during the calendar year.
Advance Vacation. Employees who have vacation entitlement earned by June 1st during any vacation year, may draw the earned portion of such vacation on or after January 1st preceding the vacation period or by mutual agreement. When scheduling advance vacation, preference will be given to employees who have scheduled current vacation. The only exception to the above is when an employee with unscheduled current vacation wishes to schedule vacation during a period when another employee already has advance vacation scheduled. In such instances preference will be given to the previously scheduled advanced vacations. Employees who transfer to different processes and who have advance vacations scheduled will be responsible to contact their new supervisor to determine if the advanced vacation scheduled can be utilized.

U. Effect of Transfer to Position in Which Vacation Allowance is Not Earnable. When an Employee is transferred from or otherwise relinquishes one position in which vacation allowance may be earned, and accepts employment in another position in the service of the Employer in which vacation allowance may not be earned, the Employee may be deemed, for purposes of receiving pay in lieu of vacation, including any lapsed vacation in access of the maximum allowed, to have terminated employment. But in the event that the Employee is not eligible under the circumstances to receive pay in lieu of vacation, the acceptance of such new employment shall not of itself have the effect of forfeiting any vacation allowance to which the Employee is then entitled.

Advance Vacation. Employees who have vacation entitlement earned by May 1st during any vacation year may draw the earned portion of such vacation on or after December 25th preceding the vacation period or sooner by mutual agreement of the parties. Preference will be given to employees with current vacation, during the week of Christmas and New Year’s, providing their names are on the list.
Advance Vacation. For 1996, you will be entitled to ten days' vacation, which may be taken at any time during the year, notwithstanding that under the Dime's current vacation policy such ten days would otherwise not accrue until after six full months of service.
Advance Vacation. No employee may take vacation time beyond the amount earned except in the most unusual of circumstances. Written requests for advance vacation will be approved at the discretion of the Town Manager.
