Application for Extended Leave. Extended leave of more than ten (10) days, with or without pay, must be requested through the Extended Leave Clerk’s Office in the Department of Human Resources. Employees must complete the required Leave Forms and receive the necessary approval before the leave requested may be taken. All other leaves of ten (10) consecutive workdays or less must be requested through and approved by the employee’s supervisor.

Application for Extended Leave a. Teachers on maternity or parental (adoption) leave as defined by the Employment Standards Act, shall be granted upon application, an extended leave of up to one year. b. Application shall be made in writing and normally made at least twenty (20) working days prior to the expiration of the maternity or parental (adoption) leave. The ending of such extended leave shall coincide with the semester system at the secondary level and Summer, Christmas and Spring Break at the elementary level.
Application for Extended Leave. Applications for an extended leave of absence for a period of up to one (1) year may be granted to employees for personal reasons and seniority shall accumulate during such leaves. Under extenuating circumstances, such one year periods may be renewed by the Company upon request of the employee.
