Approved Grounds for Sick Leave. In accordance with the terms of this contract, eligible Employees shall be entitled to request sick leave with pay for the following reasons:

Approved Grounds for Sick Leave include personal illness or physical incapacity resulting from causes beyond the employee's control and forced quarantine in accordance with State or community health regulations. An employee may also use up to eighty (80) hours of sick leave in any two (2) year period for the care of a new born or newly adopted child. An employee may also use sick leave for medical or dental appointments for the employee or dependent child, provided that the employee must make a reasonable effort to schedule such appointments at times which have the least interference with the work day.
