On-Call Assignments. On-call assignments are defined as those instances when unit members have been instructed to remain available to return to their work location on short notice to perform assigned duties during an off-duty period. Employees shall be paid four (4) hours at the appropriate rate of pay on each non-work day they are on call. If the affected employee is assigned work to perform during non-regular work hours, the employee shall be paid for all hours worked in excess of four (4) hours at the appropriate rate of pay. In the event the employee is required to report to work, the employee shall be paid for mileage incurred in reporting to and returning from work. If the on-call duties occur during a week in which the District is closed as the result of a recognized holiday, the holiday hours shall count as hours worked for the purposes of computing overtime compensation for non-exempt personnel pursuant to the provisions of this section. On–call assignments shall be made on a rotation basis for all qualified employees.

On-Call Assignments. In full and final resolution of the claims raised in the prohibited practice complaint (Case No. SPP-25,543) and in order to specify the basic terms for future on-call assignments pursuant to the prior negotiation provision of Article 55 Section Six, the State and the Union agree as follows: 1. An agency or facility (hereinafter referred to as “agency”) which determines a need for Maintenance (NP-2) employees to be placed on “standby” or “on-call” while off-duty (hereinafter simply “on-call”) will identify in writing the job classification and function for the on-call assignment and the number of employees needed. 2. The agency may have one primary on-call individual (generally a supervisory employee) with a secondary employee(s) designated on- call during the primary’s vacations or other absences. Alternatively, the agency may have the on-call responsibility shared by two or more employees who rotate the assignment on a weekly or biweekly basis. If an agency has determined a need for on-call assignments in several classifications or functions (e.g. electrical and plumbing Qualified Craft Workers; residential maintenance and wastewater treatment plant), the on-call assignments will be separately determined and handled. 3. The agency will solicit volunteers in writing within the designated classification(s) prior to assigning employees involuntarily. If there are insufficient volunteers, the agency will make the on-call assignment in the designated classification(s) and function based on inverse seniority. If more employees volunteer than initially requested, the agency may increase the number in the on-call rotation or with secondary assignment and/or the agency will select based upon seniority from among employees in the same classification who have permanent status in the classification. 4. The agency shall provide three (3) weeks advance written notice of a new on-call program to the Union and the affected employees. 5. While on-call, the employee will be provided with a response device as defined in Article 55, Section Six(e) (e.g. cell phone, beeper, pager, etc.) and will be expected to reply by telephone to a page or call within 15 minutes. The employee will be compensated for the on-call assignment as provided in Article 55, Section Six (d). On-Call Assignments. On-Call assignments shall be assigned for periods of seven (7) consecutive calendar days and shall be included in the on-call rotation schedule completed by the Major Crimes Scene Supervisor. CSSs who are required to report to a crime scene or worksite in case of an emergency and/or to resolve a problem shall be compensated for time worked at the appropriate rate of pay for all hours spent at the crime scene/worksite and/or responding in person to the emergency as follows: (a) straight time if the hours worked do not result in overtime; or (b) time and one-half if the hours worked result in overtime. CSSs who are assigned to on-call status shall be guaranteed eight (8) hours of on- call incentive time at the normal straight-time rate for each seven (7) consecutive calendar days’ assignment. Such incentive hours shall be in addition to any and all compensation as provided for in the above Paragraph. Banked hours of on-call incentive time shall be paid, by mutual agreement of the CSS and Major Crimes Scene Supervisor, in the form of cash; or paid time off at the appropriate rate as provided for in the above Paragraph. CSSs will be allowed to bank up to a maximum of 48 hours on-call incentive hours. Banked hours will be used or compensated within one rolling year or 365 days from date it is earned. Accrued on-call incentive time designated as paid leave time off shall be used before vacation time. CSSs who have banked on-call incentive time shall, upon termination, be paid for the unused amount.
On-Call Assignments. Not more than five (5) Investigators and one (1) Sergeant assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau (ISB), excluding Sergeants assigned to the Identification or Domestic Violence Unit shall serve on a Primary On-Call group for weekend assignments. Employees assigned to the Gang, Identification and Metro Narcotics Units shall not be subject to On – Call assignments. However, the Sergeant assigned to the Gang Unit shall be included for On-Call assignment. On-Call Assignments. At the discretion of the Chief, Employees assigned to specialty assignments may be placed or removed from “on call” status (as defined in Article 2 of this agreement). When serving in an “on call” assignment, the employee shall receive an additional one (1) percent added to their specialty premium rate. It is further agreed that secondary on-call is not tantamount to the “available-by-phone” designation as defined in the Contract at Article 2, and any employees assigned to be “available-by-phone” shall not be eligible for the 1% on-call premium.

All Sanitary Inspectors employed as Registered Environmental Health Specialists (“REHS”) within the unit will be scheduled for on-call assignments on a yearly reverse-seniority basis throughout each calendar year. The on-call scheduled week will run from Friday to Friday, including weekends and holidays. If a Friday has been designated as a County holiday, the transfer will be conducted on Thursday, before the end of the work day. 2. The On-Call list for the upcoming year will be generated by management with the approval of the Department Director by October 1st of each year. Based on the reverse seniority call-out described above, each REHS while actively employed, or anticipated by management to be actively employed (e.g., not on FMLA, FLA or other authorized leave) will be required to perform on-call assignments during each calendar year. By no later than November 1st of each year, prior to the on-call assignment list becoming final, any inspector wishing to change an on-call assignment may switch the assigned on-call week with another inspector who is willing to accept, and agrees to such a switch in the assignment schedule. The inspector wishing to make such change shall complete a statement as to the basis for the change, and each Inspector involved in the switch of on-call assignments shall sign a statement agreeing to exchange their on-call assignment weeks. This must be submitted to management by no later than November 1 and is subject to the approval of the Department Director or designee, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. 4. In the event that the schedule issued on October 1st has an REHS scheduled to woron the same premium holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, July 4) two consecutive years in a row, that REHS may elect to work that assignment week, or may arrange a swap with another REHS, or may decline the assignment in writing to the Director, or his/her designee, within seven (7) work days from October 1st , and in the event of a declination, the assignment shall mandatorily be switched with the next active xxxxxx XXXX on the list. The REHS may arrange a switch of that assignment with another REHS by no later than seven (7) work days from being notified by management of the switch in assignment and shall so inform the Director, or his/her designee, of same in writing, signed by both REHS and reflecting their respective agreement to the swit...

On-Call Assignments. A. Department of Fish and Game 1. On-Call Program a. “On-call” is the requirement that an employee be available during specified off-duty hours to receive an order to work. An employee assigned to on-call duty shall at all times while on-call be prepared to respond in a fit and able condition. Employees not scheduled for on-call duty who are called back to work are not eligible for on-call compensation. Rather, appropriate call back provisions apply. b. The Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) requires designated Unit 10 employees to be available during non-work hours to respond in accordance with program procedures to departmental emergencies and any other urgent, operational needs of the Department. The programs shall clearly specify in writing when any designated Unit 10 employee will be required to be available when not working, and what periods of non-working hours such employees shall be required to be available. Any Unit 10 employee with appropriate training may be selected for emergency response pursuant to this section.
On-Call Assignments. On-call employees shall receive $40.00 per day and $65.00 on weekends, holidays and scheduled off-days for the term of the on-call assignment and overtime in accordance with Article IV-M of the Personnel Rules and Regulations. For call-outs on holidays, the employee shall be compensated a minimum of three hours plus actual hours worked. Unit employees assigned to on-call duty, upon approval of his/her supervisor, shall have the use of a City vehicle for travel to and from work while on on-call status. As the purpose of the on-call status is for quick response time, employee may only be assigned to on-call status if they live within 30 miles of the Community Services City Yard. On-call employee is responsible for taking reasonable steps to ensure cell phone is in working condition (i.e. making sure batteries are charged on the beeper.) The City shall be responsible for service and maintenance when employee notified City of any malfunction. On-call employee is responsible for cell phone if lost or damaged due to employee’s negligence. On-call employee is expected to arrive at scene within (forty-five) 45 minutes of receiving the call. On-call employee must refrain from any activities which may impair judgment or ability to perform duties. Employee assigned to on-call status may trade assignment and, except in emergency or unusual circumstances is required to notify the supervisor of the trade. In usual situations, trades will be confirmed in writing to the supervisor and will include the signature of the assigned employee and the one with whom he/she is trading. On-call employee who responds to the scene and determines the need for assistance may request another employee to respond. Any employee who is not designated as the “on-call” employee who is called out shall be compensated in accordance with Article IV-M of the Personnel Rules and Regulations. On-call assignment pay shall continue to apply to employees in the below designated classifications: Equipment Mechanic Crewleader, Building and Facilities Crewleader, Maintenance Crewleader, Infrastructure Crewleader, and Tree Trimmer Crewleader.
On-Call Assignments. The Department may assign an employee to be in an “On-call” status in order to provide immediate legal advice, and search and arrest warrants to law enforcement officers investigating complex criminal cases. “On-call” is an assigned duty outside the normal work week assignment during which an employee must remain where the employee can be contacted by telephone or pager and is ready to immediately respond to perform an essential service for the department. An employee who is assigned on-call duty shall be compensated at the rate of one hundred ninety-six dollars and eighty cents ($196.80) per weekly assignment of such duty.
