ARTICLE IV - SENIORITY. A. Any new employee will be considered a probationary employee until he/she has been employed for Ninety (90) work days. At the end of the probationary period, each new employee will be entered on the seniority list as of the date of employment at the White Cloud Schools as a secretary. In case of reduction of hours, or layoff and recall from layoffs, job bidding and transfers, the principle of seniority shall be considered, all other things being relatively equal. As it becomes necessary to add a secretary to a new position due to the formation of a new position or to fill the vacancy of an existing position, such job opening will be posted for bid.
ARTICLE IV - SENIORITY. A. Seniority is defined as an employee's total length of continuous service with the Employer, beginning with his/her original date of hire, inclusive of his/her probationary period.

  • Super Seniority In the event of a layoff, the Plant Chairperson, Committeepersons and Stewards shall have super seniority.

Whenever possible, an employee shall be given an opportunity to serve the College in some other capacity for which he/she is qualified. This clause applies to all employees, including those on leave at time of reduction of staff.

  • Seniority Frozen When an Agency intends to initiate a layoff, the Agency will notify the Union in writing that all seniority will be frozen from the date of notice for a period not to exceed three (3) months. However, during the period when seniority is frozen, the employee will continue to accumulate time towards seniority for purposes of future computations. The three (3) month freeze may be extended by mutual written agreement of the Union and the Agency.

  • SENIORITY AND REDUCTION IN FORCE Section 1. Whenever a classified position is abolished, or a reduction in force becomes necessary, or an employee is laid off to create a vacancy for an employee moving from a higher classification, layoff shall be in reverse order of continuous service with the City.
