Assignment of Overtime. When the Hospital requires unscheduled overtime work to be performed, such overtime opportunity shall be offered in order of seniority to employees within the department present at work, subject to their qualification and ability to perform the work. Where no employees as described above are immediately available and willing to accept the overtime opportunity, overtime will be offered in order of seniority to employees within the classification that normally performs the work, in the department and campus at which the work is to be performed. Scheduled overtime will be offered in order of seniority to employees within the classification that normally perform the work, in the department and campus at which the work is to be performed. In work areas where employees are required to declare their willingness/availability to work overtime, the Hospital will not be required to offer overtime to those employees who have not indicated a willingness/availability to work overtime. The Hospital maintains the right to assign the least senior employee within the classification that normally performs the work, in the department and campus at which the work is performed, to perform the work where senior employees are not willing or available.
