Association Absences. In the event the Association desires to send a representative to a local, state or national conference or on other business pertaining to the Association, the Association shall make written application, at least ten (10) days in advance of the first expected day of absence, to the Director of Human Resources, who shall have the discretion to grant or deny such request, in whole or in part, and shall retain the discretion to disallow the absence should the needs of the District so require. On July 1 of each year the Association will be allocated four hundred (400) hours to use during the succeeding fiscal year in accordance with and subject to the provisions of this Section. Any hours which remain at the end of each fiscal year shall be forfeited. In addition, the District may, in its sole discretion, allow Association absences in excess of the four hundred (400) hours specified in this section. If additional hours are allowed by the District, the Association shall reimburse the District for all such time at the applicable substitute rate. Payment to an employee for an absence under this section shall not be considered as time worked for the purpose of computing overtime compensation.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid released time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year.

  • Association Leave A total of 10 days of leave with pay during the current school year shall be granted the Association for use by the Association. A maximum of four additional days may be used for Association leave and the substitute’s salary will be reimbursed to the Board by the Association. The President of the Association will notify the Superintendent as to the educators and dates involved at least five (5) days before such leave is desired.

  • Association Leave Days The School Board will provide twenty (20) days to be used as Association Leave Days. The Polk Education Association agrees to reimburse the District for the cost of substitutes.

  • Association Dues 5.01 In every pay period, the Board shall deduct from every pay of each Occasional Teacher the appropriate amount of dues as authorized by the Constitution of the Association and directed by its Executive.

  • Association Grievance A grievance, as defined in Section 7.1, relating to occurrences actually involving at least three (3) nurses or arising under the Association Representative article, may be initiated by the Association at Step 2 of the above-mentioned procedure by the filing of a written grievance, signed by a representative of the Association, within 35 calendar days from the date of occurrence. Such grievance shall describe the problem and the contract provisions alleged to have been violated.

  • Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.

  • Association Grievances If a grievance affects a group of employees or the Association, the Association may initiate and submit such grievance to the Superintendent directly, and the processing of such grievance shall commence at Step 2. Grievances involving more than one supervisor and grievances involving the administrator above the building level may be filed by the Association at Step 2.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave 26.1 The Employer shall grant leave on pay for employees party to this MECA to attend courses authorised by NZNO to facilitate the employee’s education and training as employee representatives in the workplace.   • Association Activities The parties agree employees shall have the right to form, join, and participate in the lawful activities of the Association for the purpose of representation in matters of employment relations. No employee shall be interfered with, restrained, coerced, or discriminated against because of the exercise of such rights.

  • ASSOCIATION LEAVE AND SECONDMENT 13.1 A teacher shall be granted leave of absence with pay provided the School Division is reimbursed by the Association for the actual costs of the substitute, including the School Division portion of statutory benefit contributions, to fulfill the duties as an elected or appointed member of the Provincial Executive Council, Discipline and Practice Review Committees, and central and local table negotiating committees.
