Association Membership and Activity. Employees shall have the right to organize, join, and assist the Association, to participate in professional negotiations with the Employer as provided in this Agreement through representatives of their own choosing, and to engage in other activities for the purpose of establishing, maintaining, protecting, or improving conditions of professional service and the educational program; provided, however, nothing herein shall be construed as sanctioning any action which is inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement. Neither the Employer nor the Association will discriminate on the basis of Association membership, lawful Association activity or refusing to engage in such activity, participation in negotiations, or the adjustment of grievances.

  • Union Membership Every employee who is now or hereafter becomes a member of the Union shall maintain membership in the Union as a condition of employment, and every new employee whose employment commences hereafter shall, within thirty (30) days after the commencement of employment, apply for and maintain membership in the Union, as a condition of employment, provided that any employee in the appropriate bargaining unit, who is not required to maintain membership or apply for and maintain membership in the Union, shall, as a condition of employment, tender to the Union the periodic dues uniformly required to be paid by the members of the Union.

  • Membership and Dues Deduction District shall distribute CSEA-supplied membership applications to appropriate new hires (but not make any statement suggesting workers must join). District shall refer all employee questions about CSEA or dues over to the CSEA Labor Relations Representative. This agreement shall satisfy District’s duty to bargain effects of Xxxxx decision. The District shall not interfere with the terms of any agreement between CSEA and the District’s employee with regard to that employee’s membership in CSEA. CSEA shall have the sole and exclusive right to receive the payroll deduction for regular membership dues.
