Association Activity. 5.03.1 A Member's service to the Association shall be deemed Service to the University and Society in evaluation of performance.
5.03.2 The Board shall not interfere with active Members participating in Association activities when those activities do not unduly interfere with active Members' assigned duties.
5.03.3 Electronic correspondence or communication carried on among active Members of the Association or its staff in furtherance of Association activities shall be the property of the parties so corresponding or communicating.
5.03.4 The Board recognizes that Members have the right to attend open meetings of the Board, and to attend open meetings of the committees of that body, subject to this activity not interfering with the execution of the Member's duties.
5.03.5 The Association has the right to call upon the assistance of duly authorized representatives of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) and the Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations (CAFA).
Association Activity. Section 1: Representatives of the ONA may enter the Hospitals for purposes of meeting with nurses and the Hospitals’ representatives under the grievance procedure provided herein or for purposes related to the ONA’s mission with reasonable notice to the Administrator of Human Resources. Such representatives shall be subject to the regulations applicable to non-employees and to such other reasonable regulations as the Hospitals may establish.
Section 2: OSUNO may designate up to 15 registered nurses from the bargaining unit to serve on the ONA negotiating committee. The designated registered nurses will be granted leave of absence with pay for the day on which a meeting is held but in no event will a nurse be paid more than the number of hours for which the nurse is usually scheduled. ONA Negotiating Committee members will be scheduled on the day shift each day of negotiations and automatically be excused to attend negotiating sessions. Nurses shall not be scheduled to work the night shift on the day preceding scheduled negotiations.
Section 3: Where there are bulletin boards for Hospital employees, including electronic bulletin boards, a reasonable amount of space will be reserved for the ONA or the ONA
Section 4: The ONA will have reasonable access to nurses’ mailboxes upon prior notification to the appropriate unit supervisor. ONA/OSUNO will continue to be granted the use of the Hospitals email system.

Section 6: Anytime the OSUNO President or other OSUNO representative is called in on his or her day off from work by Human Resources to perform representational duties, such time shall be compensated by the Medical Center.
Association Activity. The Association agrees that, except as specifically provided by the terms and provisions of this Agreement, employees shall not be permitted to engage in Association activity during their working hours.
Association Activity. The Association agrees that, except as specifically provided for by the terms and provisions of this Agreement, employees shall not be permitted to engage in Association activity during working hours. There shall be no Association meetings held on City property, unless authorized in writing by the Employer. Employees, who are elected or appointed to attend Association meetings, seminars or workshops, will be granted leave without pay to attend, provided reasonable advance notice is furnished to the Employer and further provided that the requested time off does not impair the operations as determined by the department head.
(a) It is understood and agreed that there may be no more than one (1) employee from any division of a department within the City on Association leave at the same time. It is likewise understood and agreed that no more than one (1) Association representative may be relieved from his work within a given division of a department at any one time for Association business, grievance representation or contract negotiations. Said release from work shall be without pay. The parties will split the cost of Association employee representatives participating in negotiations by equally sharing in the wage costs of all hours spent in negotiations which occur during the employee-representative’s regular working hours. No additional payment shall accrue for hours spent bargaining outside the regular shift.
(b) At the time new employees are hired, the Union will explain the Agency Shop and dues check-off provision of this Agreement to said employees. If the employees wish to join the Association and/or to have the dues or representation fee deducted from their pay, the Employer will have them sign the proper membership and check-off form which shall be postdated to conform to this Agreement. The names and work locations of all new employees hired into bargaining unit positions will be provided in a timely manner to a union official, as designated by the union.
(c) See Section 2.4 for grievance release time procedure.
Association Activity. The Association agrees that activities related to the internal operation of the Association and activities not specifically authorized by the terms of this Agreement shall be performed only during the non-duty hours of the employees. Examples of such activities include solicitation of membership, collection of dues, distribution of literature, preparation for negotiations, preparation of unfair labor practice complaints, campaigning for Association office, and soliciting employee grievances. Effective upon ratification of the contract between the parties, MEA officers shall be allowed to use up to eight (8) hours per year of released time to assist in processing and/or resolving grievances during regular work hours provided such released time is approved by the supervisor.
Association Activity. Section 11.01 There shall be no discrimination, interference, restraint or coercion by the Employer against any Employee for any lawful activity on behalf of, or membership in the Association.
Section 11.02 The Union shall be allowed reasonable access to the Employer's property for the conducting of Union meetings, provided such access does not interfere with the operation of the Department.
Section 11.03 The Union Officers shall be permitted to conduct required Union business during normal work hours, which shall not be unreasonably denied, as long as it does not interfere with the normal operations of the Fire Department.
Association Activity. The Association agrees that, except as specifically provided for by the terms and provisions of this Contract, employees shall not be permitted to engage in Association activity during working hours. Association representatives shall be permitted to briefly confer with member(s) on District’s premises, but outside the transportation building. To define “briefly confer”, the Association agrees to a five (5) minute time limit that does not conflict or interfere with the employee’s job duties. The Association shall be allowed to hold meetings on school property provided the desired facility is not scheduled for use, which would result in a conflict with or it would interfere with school activities. The Association shall notify the director of transportation if such meetings are held at the transportation department.
Association Activity. No Association officers receiving pay by the City will do any out-of-town union organizing or be involved in any political activity except on his/her days off or after 5:00 p.m. each day. Association members or officers will not conduct any Association business on City time except as otherwise specified in this Agreement. Association meetings will not be held on City time or on City property. Association representatives, other than those full-time members of the Police Services Division will be allowed on City property only with the advance permission of the Director of Police Services or his designated representative. The only exceptions to the above provisions are:
Association Activity. No Association member or officer shall conduct any Association business on City time except 11 as specified in this Agreement. Up to three (3) representatives of the Association shall be permitted a total of two 12 (2) hours per month for the regular Association Officers' meeting provided that permission is first obtained from 13 the Chief or his/her designated representative and collectively permitted up to a maximum of forty-eight (48) hours 14 per calendar year representing employees in the grievance procedure at a time and place designated by the Chief 15 or his/her designated representative. All such time so spent and authorized shall be without loss of pay in the event 16 that such time occurs during normal duty hours. Permission shall not be unreasonably denied.
Association Activity. A. Any member of the Association holding a seat on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association may attend meetings of said Board of Directors under the following terms:
1. The Board member will be allowed to attend meetings of the Board; the necessary time off duty shall be granted without loss of pay.
2. The Association shall advise the Chief of Police or designee not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the requested time off.
3. If it becomes necessary to fill the Board member’s vacancy, an unassigned officer will be utilized without added cost to the City or the Association.
4. If it becomes necessary to fill the Board member’s vacancy and an unassigned officer is not available, an off-duty officer will be called in to fill the vacancy at the overtime rate. The cost for an officer called in at the overtime rate shall be equally shared by the WRPPA and the City.
a. The Association agrees to provide written notification to the Police Chief and to the Human Resources Director within seven (7) days following election or selection of Association officials, stewards, or other officials, including officials assigned to handle aspects of the Grievance Procedure.
b. Association business, whenever possible, shall be transacted during off-duty hours. Any Association business that must be transacted while on duty will require prior approval by the Chief or a Division Commander. Except under unusual circumstances, permission to participate in an Association function will be limited to one on-duty person. Exceptions may be granted by the Chief or Division Commander. Long-distance telephone calls for Association business will not be permitted at City expense unless prior approval is granted by the Chief or a Division Commander. The Association will be charged the prevailing union rate for all copies made on City copy machines. The use of Police Department facilities for Association business will require prior approval of the Chief or a Division Commander. It is expressly understood and agreed that it shall not be considered a violation of this Article for representatives of WPPA/AGENT to contact local Association representatives, by phone or in person, while they are on duty, for the purpose of conducting routine Association business of a brief nature. Brief nature is defined as approximately 30 minutes or less.
