Association President/Representative Leave. The Board shall, upon request, grant leave without pay to the Association president and/or representative, up to one and one-half positions maximum for three persons, to perform necessary duties of the Association. The district will pay fringe benefits for a president who is on less than full-time leave. The district will pay the fringe benefits for three copresidents—or other cooperative arrangement of Association officers not to exceed three—whose combined release time is less than one full time equivalency. The Association will pay fringe benefits for a president or cooperative arrangement of Association officers on full-time leave. While on leave, the president(s) or other combination, not to exceed three Association officers shall be entitled to salary schedule movement and seniority accumulation. The president/representative shall be reinstated to the position held previous to the leave upon return. A unit member who has taken leave to serve as an Association officer and who teaches an elective program shall upon reinstatement to the position held previous to leave, have up to two years to build their program back up to the same level as it was prior to leave. The schedule for this leave shall be submitted to a Human Resources administrator at least 60 calendar days prior to the beginning of each school year unless an emergency situation arises. A specific agreement for Association president/representative leave will be arranged within 10 calendar days of the submission. The Association spokesperson, Association president, principal, and Human Resources administrator will meet as a committee to arrange these details. In the event it becomes necessary to create a “shared classroom assignment” to accommodate the leave herein described, the Association officer(s) shall have the right to indicate his/her preference among the applicants seeking the shared position.

  • Managing Director 1. He or she shall be responsible for organising, appointing and dismissing staff in accordance with staff rules to be adopted by the Board of Directors. 5. The Managing Director shall be the legal representative of the ESM and shall conduct, under the direction of the Board of Directors, the current business of the ESM.

  • Company Representative Whenever under the provisions of this Agreement the approval of Company is required or Company is required to take some action at the request of Issuer, such approval shall be made or such action shall be taken by Company Representative and Issuer or Trustee shall be authorized to act on any such approval or action and Company shall have no redress against Issuer or Trustee as a result of any such action taken.

  • Designated Representative Except as provided in Section 2.4 of this Agreement, in the event that a Member is unable to make decisions, Company or Company Contractors will attempt to contact the Member’s Designated Representative for the purposes of making decisions on behalf of Member in regards to any items or services set forth in this Agreement. The Designated Representative is the person or persons identified to Company by the Member during enrollment or after as the primary person who will be making decisions on behalf of the Member in the event the Member becomes incapacitated.

  • Vice President In the absence of the President or in the event of the President’s inability to act, the Vice President, if any (or in the event there be more than one Vice President, the Vice Presidents in the order designated by the Directors, or in the absence of any designation, then in the order of their election), shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting, shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the President.   • Hospital-Association Committee (a) There shall be a Hospital-Union Committee comprised of representatives of the Hospital, one of whom shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate and of the Union, one of whom shall be the Bargaining Unit President or designate. The number of representatives is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions and the membership of the Committee may be expanded by mutual agreement. (b) The Committee shall meet every two (2) months unless otherwise agreed and as required under Article 8.01 (a) (iv). The duties of chair and secretary shall alternate between the parties. Where possible, agenda items will be exchanged in writing at least five (5) calendar days prior to the meeting. A record shall be maintained of matters referred to the Committee and the recommended disposition, if any, unless agreed to the contrary. Copies of the record shall be provided to Committee members. (c) The purpose of the Committee includes: i) promoting and providing effective and meaningful communication of information and ideas, including but not limited to workload measurement tools and the promotion of best practices. Such communication may include discussion of nursing workload measurement and patient acuity systems. The Hospital will provide, upon request, information on workload measurement systems applicable to nursing currently used by the Hospital, and evaluations completed by the Hospital of such systems. ii) reviewing professional responsibility complaints with a view to identifying trends and sharing organizational successes and solutions, making joint recommendations on matters of concern including the quality and quantity of nursing care and discussing the development and implementation of quality initiatives; iii) making joint recommendations to the Chief Nursing Officer on matters of concern regarding recurring workload issues including the development of staffing guidelines, the use of agency nurses and use of overtime; iv) dealing with complaints referred to it in accordance with the provisions of Article 8, Professional Responsibility; v) discussing and reviewing matters relating to orientation and in- service programs; vi) promote the creation of full-time positions for nurses, and discuss the effect of such changes on the employment status of the nurses. This may include the impact, if any, on part-time and full-time, job sharing and retention and recruitment. (d) The Hospital agrees to pay for time spent during regular working hours for representatives of the Union attending at such meetings. (e) Where a Committee representative designated by the Union attends Committee meetings outside of her or his regularly scheduled hours, she or he will be paid for all time spent in attendance at such meetings at her or his regular straight time hourly rate of pay. Such payment shall be limited to two (2) Committee representatives per meeting.
