Audition Environment. Bulletin] • ACTRA, CMPA and AQPM have agreed to continue a dialogue on DEIB issues through the joint Equal Opportunities Committee. All Parties have agreed the first meeting shall occur no later than March 31, 2022. [(O) Appendix 33 – Equal Opportunity Committee] Auditions/Virtual and Self-Tape Auditions: The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed our workplace and how Performers compete for work opportunities. It has placed an undue burden on Performers with respect to the audition process. ACTRA achieved the following gains, which will help ensure performers can focus on what they do best – their performance. The following gains were made to remove some of the increased burdens placed on Performers with respect to the audition process: • Performers shall not be required to translate any audition material into English or any other language. [(H) A2801 – Auditions] • Performers shall not be required to audition more than eight (8) pages of dialogue or two scenes, at the Producer’s election, for a first Audition that is a self-tape. [(H) A2801 – Auditions] • Performers shall not be required to assume primary responsibility for recording, monitoring and adjusting sound levels, or editing the audition for virtual live voice Audition recalls. [(I) A2803 – Audition Recall (b)] • Producers shall endeavour to make character breakdowns, sides and/or scripts available to Performers forty-eight (48) hours prior but not less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to an Audition. [(J) A2808] • For virtual and self-tape auditions, Performers will not be required to provide complicated, elaborate or technical camera movements, zooms or angles, or elaborate costumes, hair or makeup. Additionally, a Performer may request feedback in advance if they are called for an Audition recall. [(K) A2810 – Virtual and Self-tape Auditions] COVID-19 Provisions: While pandemic-related health and safety protocols have been implemented to help keep everyone safe and our industry rolling, some have created additional barriers for Performers. • Compensation for Members for time spent undergoing COVID-19 testing: [(P) Appendix 44 – Covid-19 Provisions] • ACTRA Background Performers will receive a stipend of $100 plus insurance and retirement contributions if they are required by the Producer to travel outside the Background Performer’s home to undergo a COVID-19 test on a day on which they are not working for the Producer (a non-workday). • All other Performers will receive a stipend of $250 (no frin...
