Benefits of Leave. Successful applicants for retraining leave shall receive full health insurance benefits, life insurance benefits and fifty-percent (50%) of the previous year's salary, as well as seniority accrual during the period of the retraining leave.

Benefits of Leave. In the period of the leave, the Board shall pay to the teacher the total money deferred plus all unpaid interest less any adminis- tration costs assessed by the chartered Canadian bank. The Board shall deduct from this amount monies required for Government deductions. Payment shall be made to the teacher in accordance with paragraph 2 and hereof. The teacher’s benefits will be maintained by the Board during his/her leave of absence, however, the premium costs of all benefits in the year of the leave shall be paid by the teacher. No sick leave credits shall be accumulated while the teacher is on leave. All credits in the accumulated sick leave account at the start of the leave period shall be retained and recorded to the teacher’s credit on return from the leave. While on leave, any benefits tied to the salary level shall be structured according to the salary received by the teacher in accordance with paragraph 3 (a) hereof. No other employment with the Board may be entered into while the teacher is on leave.
Benefits of Leave. An employee who is granted a Board approved leave for one (1) year will be returned to his/her previous position, if there is no change in the position. If the employee does not elect to return after one year, the assignment will be considered open and the position will be filled in accordance with the terms of this agreement. This does not preclude an employee from requesting a leave extension. Any employee assigned to the position vacated by a person on a Board approved leave accepts that position as temporary in that specific assignment.

The returning employee will be assigned to the position occupied before the leave of absence. If that position is unavailable/eliminated, the employee may choose a vacant position substantially equal in duties and compensation or any opening for which the employee is qualified. E. Employees filling positions of employees on leave of absence will be assigned to such positions for a specific period of time, during which they shall be subject to all provisions of this Agreement. It shall be the responsibility of the College to inform replacement employees of these provisions. This provision does not apply to leaves of short duration for which the College presently hires temporary employees. F. The employee will retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation rights, and seniority rights while on leave of absence. However, vacation credits, sick leave, and seniority shall not accrue while the employee is on leave of absence; provided, however, that if such leave is approved for extended illness or injury, seniority shall accrue.
