Sick Leave Account. The Board shall administer a sick leave plan and maintain a sick leave account for each Teacher who is employed by the Board. The account shall show the number of days of sick leave, if any, accumulated by each Teacher as of the commencement of the school year and the number of days of sick leave credited and used thereafter.
Sick Leave Account. (a) Each employee’s sick leave account shall be debited for the number of days absent due to personal illness and/or medical and dental appointments and for which salary was paid, until such account has become exhausted. When an account has been completely expended no further payments shall be made for absence due to personal illness until the account has been credited with the allowance for the next year commencing September 1st. Any overdrawing of the sick leave account is subject to recovery by the Board.
(b) All payments to employees under sick leave shall be computed on the basis of the rate of regular day’s salary such employee is, or would be, receiving at the time the absence occurs.
(c) Upon any change in employment status (such as change in percentage of full- time worked, number of days per week or number of weeks worked, termination) the credit under (a) above for the current year shall be adjusted.
(a) Absence due to personal illness of three (3) consecutive school days or less and not exceeding a total of ten (10) school days in any one (1) year do not normally required medical certification. However, at the Board’s discretion, a medical certificate may be required for any lesser period of absence.
(b) A certificate when required under (a) above shall be furnished to the principal or other immediate supervisor and shall clearly certify to the inability of the employee to attend to duties due to personal illness or acute inflammatory condition of the teeth or gums.
(c) For absences in excess of ten (10) school days, but of three (3) months or less, a certificate shall be submitted to the Superintendent of Human Resources or designate. If the absence is for a period in excess of three (3) months, the Board may require that it be certified by a doctor chosen by the Board at the Board’s expense.
(d) Where the frequency of incidental absence becomes a concern to the Board, the employee may be required to have a medical examination by a doctor chosen by the Board at the Board’s expense.
Sick Leave Account. 1910 Employees participating in the ACP will have their current accrued Sick Leave account frozen upon entering the Program. Sick Leave already accrued at the time of transfer to the ACP will be available when the employee returns to the regular compensation program. No additional Sick Leave will accrue while in the ACP. 1911 Section 6 - Premium Rates 1912 In the event an employee works overtime or is on standby, the applicable regular/overtime/premium rate will be paid at the employees’ regular base wage rate, minus the twenty-percent (20%) ACP differential. 1913 Section 7 - Designated Holidays 1914 Employees participating in the ACP do not receive pay for time not worked. In the event an employee works on a designated holiday, their pay will be at one and one-half (1 ½) their base wage rate, minus the twenty percent (20%) ACP differential. 1915 Section 8 - Pension
Sick Leave Account. At the end of each school year, all of the balance of that year’s sick leave allowance for each employee, after deduction for absences due to illness or injury will be credited to such an employee’s accumulated sick leave account.
Sick Leave Account. 15.01.01 Each Member is entitled to an annual sick leave allowance of twenty (20) days per school year, on the first working day of the school year. Such allowance shall be pro- rated for Members who are employed less than full-time. Members who commence employment during the school year shall be credited with a pro-rated number of sick days on the Member's first day of work.
15.01.02 A record shall be maintained of each Member's credited and accumulated sick leave, and each Member will be advised in writing by September 30 of each year of the Member's total sick leave accumulation. Upon the acceptance of a letter of resignation from a Member, and upon written request, the Employer shall provide the Member with an up-dated statement of accumulated sick leave within thirty (30) school days of receipt of the written request.

A Teacher coming directly to the Upper Grand from a Board which has an accumulated sick leave plan may have such credits and they may be used in case of illness but such transferred credits will not be included in calculating retirement gratuity. Should a Teacher leave the employ of and later rejoin the Upper Grand District School Board staff, sick leave credits shall be carried over from the first to the second period. however, a Teacher is away the Upper Grand District School Board staff on a leave of absence, granted by the Board, the accumulated sick leave credits shall carry on with no credits given for the period of absence.
Sick Leave Account. The Board shall administer a sick leave plan and maintain a sick leave account for every teacher who is a member of the Union Local. The account shall show a record of the teacher's credited, accumulated and used sick leave. A statement of the account shall be provided to the Teacher on or before September 15 of each school year. If there are any inaccuracies or discrepancies, the teacher will return the statement to the Human Resources Department no later than October 15.
Sick Leave Account. 29.02.01 At the beginning of the working year there shall be placed in the sick leave account of each member who is employed on a full-time basis a credit of twenty-four (24) days.
Sick Leave Account. At the end of each fiscal year, all unused sick leave days (in units of one-half (½) day or more) will be transferred and added to an accumulated Sick Leave Account for each employee.
