Bereavement Leave With Pay. This Article applies only to employees who have completed their probationary period and is to be used for the purpose of attending the funeral. Partner is defined as a person of the opposite sex who is legally married to and living with the employee or if the employee so elects, is not living with the person at the time, or a person of the same or opposite sex who is not married to the employee but is an individual who has been co- habitating for a period of one year with the employee and who is publicly recognized as the domestic partner of the employee.
