Bereavement Leave With Pay. For the purpose of this clause, the definition of immediate family will include the relatives of a common law spouse in the same manner as would be applied to the relatives of a spouse. d) It is recognized by the parties that the circumstances which call for leave in respect of bereavement are based on individual circumstances. On request, the Director of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness may, after considering the particular circumstances involved, grant leave with pay for a period greater than that provided for in clauses a) and b) above.

(b) In special circumstances and at the request of the employeeworker, bereavement leave with pay may be extended beyond the day following the day of the funeral but the total number of days granted shall be consecutive, shall not exceed the number provided for in paragraph (a) above, and must include the day of the funeral.

(b) In special circumstances and at the request of the employee, bereavement leave with pay may be extended beyond the day following the day of the funeral but the total number of days granted shall be consecutive, shall not exceed the number provided for in paragraph (a) above, and must include the day of the funeral.
c) An employee is entitled to two (2) days' up to twenty-four hours consecutive bereavement leave with pay for the purpose related to the death of his/his or her son- grandparent, spouses grandparent, grandchild, spouses grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, brother-in-law.
d) An employee is entitled to one (1) days' bereavement leave with pay for purposes relating to the death of her brother-in- law or sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew.
e(c) If, during a period of compensatory leave, vacation or hospitalization an employee is bereaved in circumstances under which he or she would have been eligible for bereavement leave with pay under paragraph (a), ) or (b), (c), or (d) of this clause, he or she shall be granted bereavement leave with pay leave, and his or her compensatory leave, vacation or sick leave credits shall be restored to the extent of any concurrent bereavement leave granted.
(d) It is recognized by the parties that the circumstances, which call for leave in respect of bereavement, are based on individual circumstances. On request, the Company may, after considering the particular circumstances involved, grant leave with pay grantedfor a period greater than that provided for in paragraph 47.01 (a) or (b).

Bereavement Leave With Pay. For the purpose of this clause, the definition of immediate family will include the relatives of a common law spouse in the same manner as would be applied to the relatives of a spouse. a) For the purpose of this clause, immediate family is defined as parent (father, mother (or alternatively stepfather, stepmother stepmother, or xxxxxx parent), brother, sister, spousefiancé, child, stepchildspouse (including common-law spouse resident with the Employee), child adopted through Aboriginal custom adoption practices(including child of common-law spouse), stepchild or xxxx of the employeeEmployee, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparents, employee’s grandchild, legal guardian and other relatives relative permanently residing in the employeeEmployee's household or with whom the employee Employee permanently resides, and also includes anyone for whom the employee holds a legally executed “Power of Attorney”.
ab) When a member of the employeeEmployee's immediate family dies, the employee an Employee shall be entitled to a bereavement leave with pay for a period of five four (54) consecutive calendar days which must include the day of the funeral. During such period the Employee shall be paid for purposes relating to those days/shifts which are not regularly scheduled days of rest for the bereavement and may, in addition, Employee. In addition the Employee may be granted up to three (3) days’ /shifts travel leave with pay for the purposes purpose of travel related to the death.

d) An employee is entitled to one (1) days' bereavement leave with pay for purposes relating to the death of her , brother-in- in-law or sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew.
ed) If, during a period of compensatory leave, an employee Employee is bereaved in circumstances under which he or she would have been eligible for bereavement leave with pay under paragraph (a), (b), (c), or (d) of this clause, she the Employee shall be granted bereavement leave with pay and his or her compensatory leave credits shall be restored to the extent of any concurrent current bereavement leave with pay granted.

c) The Employer recognizes that demonstrated cultural and religious practices may warrant additional days bereavement leave and may provide a reasonable number of additional paid bereavement days as the circumstances may require. This request shall not be unreasonably denied.
d) An employee is entitled to one (1) days' bereavement leave with pay for purposes relating to the death of her brother-in- law or sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew.
e) If, during a period of sick leave, vacation leave or compensatory leave, an employee Employee is bereaved in circumstances under which she they would have been eligible for bereavement leave with pay under paragraph (a), () or b), (c), or (d) of this clauseClause, she the Employee shall be granted bereavement leave with pay and her their sick leave, vacation leave or compensatory leave credits shall be restored to the extent of any concurrent bereavement leave with pay granted.
