Bereavement Leave With Pay. ‌ D5.01 For the purpose of this article, "immediate family" is defined as father, mother (or alternatively stepfather, stepmother or xxxxxx parent), brother, sister, spouse (including common-law spouse resident with the employee), child (including child of common-law spouse), stepchild or xxxx of the employee, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother- in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides. D5.02 Upon the death of a member of the employee’s immediate family, an employee: a) Shall be entitled to bereavement leave of up to seven consecutive calendar days with pay; and b) Where travel related to the death is required, an additional period of leave of up to three consecutive calendar days with pay. D5.03 During periods of bereavement leave with pay, employees shall be paid for those days on which they were scheduled to work but did not work because of such bereavement leave. D5.04 The period of bereavement leave with pay, as defined in paragraph D5.02, may be split and taken in the following two periods: a) The first period immediately following the death, and b) The second period within 13 months from the date of death for the purpose of commemorating the deceased in accordance with bona-fide religious beliefs or attending a traditional ceremony.

(a) When a member of his or her immediate family dies, an employee shall be entitled to a bereavement period of four (4) consecutive calendar days including the day of the funeral. During such period, he or she shall be paid for those days which are not regularly scheduled days of rest for that employee. In addition, the employee may be granted up to three (3) days' leave for the purpose of travel related to the death. (b) An employee is entitled to up to one (1) day’s bereavement leave with pay for the purpose related to the death of his or her grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, law or sister-in-law. (c) If, during a period of compensatory leave, an employee is bereaved in circumstances under which he or she would have been eligible for leave under paragraph (a) and (b) of this clause, he or she shall be granted leave, and his or her compensatory leave credits shall be restored to the extent of any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently residesconcurrent leave granted. D5.02 Upon (d) It is recognized by the death of a member of parties that the employee’s immediate family, an employee: a) Shall be entitled to bereavement circumstances which call for leave of up to seven consecutive calendar days with pay; and b) Where travel related to the death is required, an additional period of leave of up to three consecutive calendar days with pay. D5.03 During periods in respect of bereavement are based on individual circumstances. On request, the Company may, after considering the particular circumstances involved, grant leave with pay, employees shall be paid pay for those days on which they were scheduled to work but did not work because of such bereavement leave. D5.04 The a period of bereavement leave with pay, as defined greater than that provided for in paragraph D5.02, may be split and taken in the following two periods: a) The first period immediately following the death, and b) The second period within 13 months from the date of death for the purpose of commemorating the deceased in accordance with bona-fide religious beliefs or attending a traditional ceremony30.02(a).
