CARE OF FACILITIES. Resident shall always keep Resident’s room, suite and/or apartment in clean and orderly condition and shall refrain from damaging and disarranging lounges, lobbies, courtyards, and other public and joint use areas of on-campus housing. Charges may be assessed against Resident for damages to, unauthorized use of, or alterations to rooms, suites, apartments, furnishings, appliances, equipment, locks or buildings, and for special cleaning necessitated by improper care of rooms, furnishings, appliances, or equipment. Resident is jointly responsible with other users for the proper care and cleanliness of all public or joint use areas within residence facilities, including furniture, walls, doors, locks, equipment, and appliances, and for jointly controlled courtyards, grounds, walkways, appliances, furniture, and equipment within the residential community. Resident may be charged for damages Resident causes to joint use or joint access areas of the building where Resident's assigned room, suite or apartment is located.
CARE OF FACILITIES a. Students are responsible for maintaining their assigned units in a clean and sanitary manner, and free from damages. No housekeeping is provided. Trash removal is provided in designated locations. Pest control services are provided upon request. Facilities are subject to periodic health and safety inspections by the Office of Housing and Residence Life Staff.
b. The Student agrees to cooperate with roommates in the common protection of property, to refrain from modifying the space in any way, except as expressly permitted in writing by the Office of Housing and Residence Life, and to promptly pay all assessed charges for damages, special cleaning or maintenance resulting from misuse or modification of the facility.
c. The Student is jointly and severally liable with his/her roommates for assessed charges, unless the responsible individual can be identified. Students assigned to a specific building are jointly and severally liable for assessed charges from damages occurring in the common areas of their housing facility.
CARE OF FACILITIES. The Student agrees to be directly and financially responsible for keeping the assigned room and its furnishings clean and free from damage, to cooperate with roommates in the common protection of property and in maintenance of the living space, and to advise the University of any deteriorated conditions of the room or its furnishings so timely repairs can be made. The Student agrees to use public areas, residential corridors and rooms, and equipment and furnishings in a careful and proper manner, to contribute to the orderliness and cleanliness of all areas, to cooperate in the common protection of property, and to advise the University of any deteriorated or hazardous conditions so timely repairs can be made. The Student agrees to pay charges when assessed for common area damages or special housekeeping or maintenance services necessary due to misuse or abuse of facilities or equipment for which the Student is determined to be responsible, or to pay an equal portion of charges assessed to all Students of a corridor, or residence hall, or dining facility when those responsible cannot be identified by the hall staff or the responsible individuals fail to assume the charges.
CARE OF FACILITIES. DePaul shall keep all campus housing premises in Lincoln Park in reasonable repair during the term of this Agreement, including maintaining the premises in compliance with applicable regulations imposed by appropriate governmental authorities. The UC Facility Manager shall keep all campus housing premises in University Center in reasonable repair during the term of this Agreement, including maintaining the premises in compliance with applicable regulations imposed by appropriate governmental authorities. As applicable, DePaul Housing or the UC Facility Manager will attempt to make all necessary repairs to a campus housing unit within a reasonable timeframe after the resident submits a request for the repairs via established procedures. In the event of an emergency maintenance issue, the resident must ensure that the concern is promptly called in to the appropriate staff; DePaul Housing or the UC Facility Manager, as applicable, will attempt to make emergency repairs within a reasonable timeframe. The resident shall maintain the campus housing unit in a clean and orderly condition and make no alterations to the premises, including, but not limited to: installing locks or safes; erecting partitions or attaching anything to ceilings, walls, floors or exteriors. Residents agree to pay for any damage and cleaning charges to their assigned unit (less reasonable wear and tear), as well as any charges for missing items from their unit, including replacement of lost keys and lock replacement. When damage occurs in common areas and the source of the damage is not known, charges will be split among the applicable community members as appropriate.

The University shall keep all Campus Housing premises in reasonable repair during the term of this Agreement, including maintaining the premises in compliance with applicable regulations imposed by appropriate governmental authorities. The University will endeavor to make all repairs to Campus Housing within a reasonable time after receipt of notice from the student requesting the repairs via established procedures. The student shall maintain his or her assigned space in a clean and orderly condition and make no alterations to the premises, including, but not limited to: removing doors or screens; painting, installing locks or safes; installing cable TV or satellite TV, erecting partitions or attaching anything structural to ceilings, walls, windows, floors or exteriors. Students agree to pay for any damage and/or cleaning charges to their assigned space, as well as any charges for missing items from their assigned space. When damage occurs in common areas and the Office of Residence Life and Housing does not know the source of the damage, charges will be split among the residents of that room, apartment, house, floor, or facility as appropriate.
CARE OF FACILITIES. (A) The Resident agrees to be directly and financially responsible for keeping the room/apartment and its furnishings clean and free from damage, to cooperate with roommates in the common protection of property, and to advise the University Housing Staff of any deteriorated conditions of the room/apartment or its furnishings.
CARE OF FACILITIES. A. The resident agrees to be directly and financially responsible for keeping the assigned sleeping room and its furnishings clean and in the same condition as when it was assigned, excluding normal wear and tear, and to cooperate with roommates in the common protection of property and cleanliness and condition of any and all shared spaces.
B. The resident agrees to notify Residence Life of any deteriorated conditions of the room or its furnishings so timely repairs may be made.
C. The resident agrees not to modify or cause or allow for the modification of the assigned room or other parts of the building.
D. The resident agrees to pay charges when assessed for room damages or special housekeeping or maintenance necessary due to misuse or abuse of facilities for which the resident is responsible.
i. Damage and cleaning charges include but are not limited to
a. Costs associated with removal of posters, stickers, or decals attached to the doors, walls, or room contents
b. Any tampering with cable television wiring or equipment
c. Repairing holes in the walls
d. Replacement or repair of telephone and data jacks and wiring which are the property of the University
e. Cleaning costs upon check-out for rooms that are not clean
ii. The cost of any damage will be assessed equally among the residents of the room unless and until the identity of the student(s) responsible for the damage is determined.
E. The resident agrees to not remove furniture from the assigned room or suite without prior written authorization from the Director of Residence Life.
F. The resident, as well as Residence Life staff, is expected to inventory the assigned room and suite upon checking in and checking out of the residence hall.
CARE OF FACILITIES. The student is responsible for the care of their room/suite/townhouse furnishings, and equipment in University Housing. The student is responsible for keeping the assigned unit in a clean and sanitary manner, and for damages and necessary repairs, in accordance with the Guide to Residential Living and other University policies. The University provides supplemental custodial service for common areas. The student is jointly liable with roommates/suitemates/housemates for assessed charges due to damage of the room, suite, or community common area of the residence hall, unless the responsible individual is identified.
CARE OF FACILITIES. A). You are responsible for the condition of your living space and all furnishings that are assigned to you, and you shall reimburse the University for all damage to the space or the furnishings, other than ordinary wear and tear. This includes damages to hallways, lounges, bathrooms, public areas, and other living spaces. You agree to provide verifiable information that identifies the responsible party or parties to be excused from adjoined payment. You are also responsible for the cleanliness of your assigned living space and you shall reimburse the University for all cleaning costs in excess of normal cleaning costs. Damages within shared living spaces are the combined responsibility of all students assigned. With respect to damages occurring in common areas, when the individual responsible for damages is unknown, these damages are prorated and divided among all the residents of the wing, floor, or building collectively. When the individual responsible for damages is a Guest, the University Guest policy will apply. The University is not liable for damage, loss, or theft of personal or other property kept in the resident’s assigned space, or in other areas of University housing.
B). University Housing Keys, Access Cards and Laundry Cards are issued to students upon check in. All Keys, Access Cards and Laundry Cards must be returned upon check out or move from the building. Lost Keys and/or cards must be reported to the community desk and you will be responsible for any fees incurred by the University for replacement.
