Career Development Leave With Pay. (a) Career development refers to an activity which, in the opinion of NAV CANADA is likely to be of assistance to the individual in furthering his or her career development and to the organization in achieving its goals. Career Development Leave With Pay. As operational requirements will allow the Employer shall grant leave with pay during the employee's normally scheduled hours for the purpose of taking any courses, seminars or training required by the Employer. The Employer will provide time off with pay for the purpose of writing required examinations and will pay course registration fees and tuition.

An employee requesting time off must notify their supervisor of the appointment as far in advance as possible. Management will grant leave with pay for an employee to leave work to catch the earlier ferry (e.g. or arrive on a later ferry (e.g. a.m.) on up to four (4) occasions in each calendar year.

The employee shall receive no compensation under the Overtime and Travelling Time provisions of this Collective Agreement during time spent on career development leave provided for in this article.
