Children in the Workplace. A. This Section is intended to support employees when sudden unexpected gaps in childcare arise and is not intended to be a replacement for having a childcare plan in place.
B. Parents, ▇▇▇▇▇▇ parents, or guardians with children (“parents”) may ask their supervisor for permission to bring their child to work with them. Such requests will not be unreasonably refused. Sick children should not be brought into the workplace.
C. The child must remain under the direct care and supervision of the parent at all times. The parent must ensure that the care and supervision of their child does not materially interfere with their ability to do their work or create an unnecessary risk or distraction for others at work. The parent will accept complete responsibility for the safety of the child. The parent will notify operations staff and follow office procedures when bringing their child.
Children in the Workplace a. When an educator’s site can accommodate an age appropriate setting following health and safety guidelines and the educator’s child(ren) are enrolled in a district school but does not have access to their own onsite learning, the site may offer an opportunity for an employee to bring their school-aged child(ren) to their classroom in accordance with the Children in the Workplace Policy.
b. In the event such an option is available and does not conflict with health and safety protocols, unit members shall have access to extended learning opportunities for the school age children of the unit member, either at the child’s school, or when there is an age-appropriate setting at the unit member’s school site.
Children in the Workplace. Pursuant to the October 28, 2020 Agreement, the Parties reached agreement on a policy that allows unit members participating in Phase One appointments to bring their child/children to the workplace.
i. In addition to the Children in the Workplace policy, unit members providing services during Phase One, who do not have other childcare options, may bring their school age child/children to work with them. If necessary, children of staff members will be supervised in accordance with health and safety guidelines based on available staff.
