Transporting Students. 1. Employees shall not transport students except in accordance with School Board rules. The Board shall adopt a school board policy outlining the teacher’s and the Board’s responsibilities and liabilities. Said policy shall be included in all school handbooks beginning with the 2004-05 school year.
2. Teachers will not be required to transport pupils to and from activities which take place away from the school grounds.
Transporting Students. Teachers shall not be required to transport a student in a private vehicle on behalf of the school.
Transporting Students. The SRDs shall only transport students in their patrol vehicles under the following conditions: The student is a victim of crime; The student has been arrested; or There are exigent circumstances or emergency. The SRD shall not transport students who have been suspended from school, barring exigent circumstances. The SRD shall not transport sick or ill students, barring exigent circumstances. The SRD shall notify the Principal or designee prior to removing any student from campus.
Transporting Students. Damage that occurs due to transporting students shall be referred to the Special Education Office.
Transporting Students. A. SROs shall not transport students in Police Department vehicles except:
(1) When the students are victims of a crime, under arrest, or some other emergency circumstances exist; and
(2) When students are suspended and/or sent home from school pursuant to school disciplinary actions, if the student’s parent or guardian has refused or is unable to pick up the child within a reasonable time period and the student is disruptive/disorderly and his/her continued presence on campus is a threat to the safety and welfare of other students and school personnel.
B. Students shall not be transported to any location unless it is determined that the student’s parent, guardian or custodian is at the destination to which the student is being transported. SROs shall not transport students in their personal vehicles.
C. SROs shall notify school personnel upon removing a student from campus.
Transporting Students. Unit IV employees shall not be required to transport students.
Transporting Students. Unit I members shall not be required to transport students in their private automobiles.
Transporting Students. Employees shall not be required to drive students to activities which take place away from the school building. Employees may do so voluntarily with approval of their principal or immediate supervisor. Reimbursement for approved use of a private vehicle shall be the State rate. When a Type II driver’s license is required, it is the responsibility of the employee to secure and maintain it prior to transporting students.

Transporting Students. Classified employees who are assigned the duty of driving/transporting students will be provided written guidelines and any required on- going training; necessary emergency student health/medical and contact information; a properly equipped district vehicle; District-provided auto insurance coverage for the driver and the District vehicle; and any other items needed to provide for the safe transportation of students. District vehicles with working cameras will be in use for student transportation.
