HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLBEING. 15.1 The University will act in accordance with all health and safety legislation and regulations to provide a safe working environment for you during the course of your studies. This applies to all campuses and locations where staff and students may be working or studying.
15.2 The University will monitor health and safety to ensure continuous improvement, to reduce the risk of an accident and to prevent injury and ill-health.
15.3 The University will provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as is reasonably necessary to ensure the health and safety of its staff and students.
15.4 You must make yourself familiar with all of the University's procedures and regulations relating to health and safety, including the University's Safety Policy and any specific rules that apply to your programme or the building in which you are located. All health and safety procedures and regulations must also be followed when you are studying off campus. If you fail to follow health and safety procedures and regulations, the University may take disciplinary action against you.
15.5 You must inform the University if you have any mobility issues or if there is any other reason which would affect your ability to follow any health and safety procedures or regulations. The University will make any reasonable adjustments and provide you with additional support to ensure your safety and wellbeing.
15.6 The University has a range of welfare, advice and guidance services available to students on issues affecting student life, including finance, disability, issues relating to your general welfare, and support for international students. The University also has Counselling and Mental Health Advisory Services to help students address personal or emotional problems that get in the way of them realising their full academic and personal potential. 15.7 The availability and scope of welfare, advice and guidance services are subject to change during your programme of study for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, changes in funding and the needs of students. The University may vary and/or amend the availability and scope of welfare, advice and guidance services at any time.

Kaplan has a range of welfare, advice and guidance services available to students on issues affecting student life, including finance, disability and issues relating to your general welfare. Further information is available via the University of Liverpool Online Programmes platform. The availability and scope of welfare, advice and guidance services are subject to change during your Programme for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, changes in funding and the needs of students. Kaplan may vary and/or amend the availability and scope of welfare, advice and guidance services at any time.
14.2 If you visit the University campus for any reason during your Programme, the University will:

1. SCHEDULE OF DUTIES
1.1 All academic staff report to the Vice-Chancellor through their xxxx of faculty and head of school, department, or centre, as the case may be.
1.2 Casual academic staff in the grades of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor may be employed to:
(a) engage in research and publication within the field of their appointment;
(b) conduct research-informed teaching in accordance with their share of the department, school or centre’s teaching programme;
(c) engage in service to the department, faculty, University, discipline and/or community which is related to the employee’s employment.
1.3 Academic staff in the grade of Professional Teaching Fellow carry out all teaching activities in collaboration with a research active academic colleague who actively participates in the University processes of curriculum and assessment design and course review. Staff at the level of PTF4 may act as course directors. The duties of Professional Teaching Fellows do not include research.
1.3.1 Casual academic staff in the grades of Professional Teaching Fellow may be employed to:

HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLBEING. 11.1 You have a legal duty to take reasonable care to avoid injury to yourself. You must:
11.1.1 abide by our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy (Appendix 1: Important Information Document 32);
11.1.2 cooperate with us in health, safety, and wellbeing matters;
11.1.3 not carry out any activity that may harm yourself or others;
11.1.4 raise any issues (including health conditions which may affect or be affected by your study) with your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) and/or student support services in the Directorate of Student and Academic Services;
11.1.5 not interfere or misuse anything provided for health, safety, and wellbeing;
11.1.6 make yourself aware of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy and follow its requirements;
11.1.7 report all accidents and incidents; and

8.3.1 The University is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for its employees by:
(a) meeting its obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Xxx 0000 and associated Regulations, Codes of Practice, and other relevant Standards or Guidelines.
(b) eliminating or minimising risks to health, safety and wellbeing, so far as is reasonably practicable.
(c) encouraging employee engagement and participation in matters relating to health and safety through the review of safe work practices by the Health and Safety Department.
(d) provision of training, personal protective equipment and practical resource.
(e) working in collaboration with staff and unions in accordance with the Employee participation agreement. All hazard and risk related protocols and procedures will be approved and periodically reviewed by relevant Health and Safety committees.
8.3.2 Employees are required to:
(a) Become fully familiar with and comply with all of the University’s rules, policies and procedures covering health and safety.
(b) Comply with all instructions relating to health and safety, including the wearing of personal protective equipment.
(c) Ensure their personal safety while at work.
(d) Take reasonable care so that their acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.
(e) Notify the University immediately if any issues arise in relation to health and safety, including the identification of workplace risks.
(f) Ensure that they have a sound understanding of the hazards and risks associated with the work for which they are responsible.
(g) Engage with the University on matters relating to health and safety at work.
(h) Report all accidents, injuries and near misses which occur or arise out of the course of their employment to enable the University to investigate and eliminate or minimise harm or risk of harm in a timely manner.
8.3.3 The University regards harassment and bullying of any kind involving staff or students, whether on or off campus, as unacceptable. The University’s Policy on Prevention of Harassment and Bullying contains further information.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLBEING. (a) The parties recognise the importance of ensuring good and safe working conditions through health and safety in the workplace and that it is a mutual obligation of the employer and principal to achieve this through a participative approach.
(b) To this end attention is drawn to the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. These Acts, and other legislation, relevant Codes of Practice and Guidelines are reference points for gaining a common understanding of what those obligations are, what will assist in meeting those mutual obligations and also in promoting best practice.
(c) Where a principal’s health and safety is shown to be at risk in the carrying out of her/his duties the employer shall take all reasonable steps as are necessary to remove or minimise the identified risk for the principal and if appropriate, to do so in consultation with the relevant health and safety authorities.
